My family in the southern countryside pronounce the letter “V” the same as they do the letter “G”. Thus my stepson’s name Vũ ends up being pronounced (in English) as “Yo”. My Vietnamese friends have suggested that if, when I read something that they have written, I see a word that begins with a “g” that I don’t understand, change the “g” to a “v”, then maybe I will understand.😊

@JinLiu06 tieen! i'm vietnamese but i don't know how to write it! sorry! i think this is a wrong way to learn vietnamese coz it's too complicated! in vietnamese languague, we just combine the vowel and the consonant together.in 2 vowels we pronounce half of the first vowel and conbine with the second vowel! that's all! EASY!
@MRKLBS12 жыл бұрын
It was just a question, and btw, why do u feel offended? BTW, Vietnamese is not 100% different from Chinese, I know that they use Chinese derived words, and those words are the one that if you change the tone, change the meaning, and Vietnamese also used to write in Chinese Characters.
