I'm surprised there is this much information available. I heard this industry is very hard to get into and it takes a long time to learn how to do this type of work. I was a bit disappointed to not see how the stone is actually cut. And the one stone had a number etched into it and it was not discussed.
@SamaraJamesJewellers3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment John. We have another video showing a stone being graded - this is the inscription etched on the girdle of the diamond.

Look it up - polishing stones etc is an ancient art and what you have just seen, and some have just ridiculed, is the truly beautiful result since mankind first flaked off flint to use for cutting meat. There seems to be no respect for the achievements of mankind because people are so ignorant of history and the effort that has gone before over millennia. The diamond memorializes that to me because I understand historically what has gone before. Learning to cut stone, and polish stone allowed such wonders as the pyramids to be built and the results at Machu Pichu. Those wonders, along with poished stone artifacts are the result of strenuous work by previous craftsmen. Regards.

Thanks for this. It's a pity some comments reveal a recent propaganda inspired hate for diamonds, they have little respect for mankind's achievements. Learning to cut stone, and polish stone allowed such wonders as the pyramids to be built and the amazing results at Machu Picchu. Those wonders, along with polished stone artifacts, and now these beautifully cut diamonds, are the result of strenuous work over millennia by previous craftsmen . Look up quarrying stone, cutting stone, polishing stone, how the pyramids were built, and your little diamond will become another wonder of the world thanks to all the craftsmen who have gone before. I respect them. Regards.

Are you removing all comments who criticise diamonds in any way? (I guess I will know if this is taken down)

There are really only a few diamonds of specific colors that are actually rare. Most of it is just artificial scarcity by the industry not to mention man made are identical to natural ones even professionals can't tell the difference.
