We always avoided destructive testing. A fake like the one broken in the flame and water test still looked good and could have been used for inexpensive jewelry. Also, some genuine diamonds contain inclusions of garnet crystals. Heating a diamond that has garnet inclusions can break the diamond.

@@zack4382 The first thing is to look at the gem closely. None of the imitations looks right if you have examined many diamonds. Does the gem have inclusions? The inclusions in diamonds are different from those in other gems. Any cracks or chips? Can you measure the refractive index or specific gravity? All non destructive tests.

Определить природу камня алмаз , в огранке это бриллиант , это дело сложное . Все что делается обычными способами это лишь варианты которые оставляют сомнения . Бриллиант может быть облагороден, склеен из частей , наполнен спец эмульсией , очищен по цвету и чистоте, и главное может быть лабораторный да ещё такой что ни один прибор не увидит истину . Прибор АЛРОСА Диамант Селектор , и то даёт сбой на имитации . Сейчас научились делать бриллианты по структуре атома похожие на природные . Ещё надо знать что камень из Индии или Израиля или США , в России в МГУ , дадут на две позиции ниже по цвету и чистоте . МГУ к Столяревича , строго это держит в марку . В Москве даже камень в три карата в пять карат , все скупщики будут обесценивать до безобразия . "Перспектива" или "Арбат" дёшево оценивают. Проще продать в обычную ювелирную мастерскую мастерам , конечно надо знать как это делать и безопасность для себя и камня .

Almost pure carbon. The hard surface is also just as hard on the interior which is another surface. Light is bounced around INSIDE there and becomes divided making for multi colors besides the light that is bounced on the surfaces inside & out. A real orgy of light!

Using a diamond tester is not very accurate, Moissanites usually will test positive on a regular diamond tester. Most cheap and mid range diamond testers test the thermal conductivity of a stone. Both diamonds and moissanites have high thermal conductivity properties. You need a diamond tester that tests the electrical conductivity, a diamond is not electrically conductive but a moissanite is.

carbon crystal is 10 on the Moh's scale of hardness... and perfectly clear.. even black diamond is clear.. it is 100,000 times harder than the nearest contender, ruby and sapphire at 9 on the Moh's scale.. try scratching the sample with a known diamond... try scratching a ruby or sapphire with the sample... that's how a geologist does a field identification... it is absolutely definitive

carbon crystal is cubic.. and you can see the little squares of cubic structure on the side of the crystal... cubes rotated 45° show 6 sides . close packed cubic/hexagonal is what we find in carbon... and the precious metals... carbon is found in every fault line on the Planet... rivers and creeks and dry washes follow fault lines... fault lines go down to the semi molten mantle... about 50km deeper than the deepest kimberlite pipe... monopoly is not a good way to do business... Ben saati alırken kuyumcuya bunları yapmasını söylesem yapma ihtimali ne olabilirdi :) Saati açıp sökmeden (taşın sökülmesini geçtim) bunların hiç birinin yapılma olanağı yok. Bizim insanımız yanmaz diye çakmakla tutup yanan şeyi satar malum. Bilgiler için teşekkürler ama bunlar anca kuyumcuya biz satarsak sizlerin uygulayabileceği şeyler. Bizler için pek anlamı yok.
