BUG is raised by tester and if the bug is accepted by developer then it named as DEFECT if the bug is rejected by developer then it will direct to REMARK.. Hence Remark/Defect ratio is included in metrics of testing.

Different meanings for error, bug and defect Error is a mistake which we get or find in internal coding/scripting. If any error occurs program will not run... Bug is a mistake which we find in the time of testing or intrupting the testing And defect is a mistake , if the actual result and expected results are not same we call as defect

As i said in the video, there is no proper definition or sources State that this is the correct one. Both are interchangeable, where I work, we never used the term defect, we always used the term bug. And we don't do any application development or debug the code. If u r clear with the understanding you have, then you are good to go. Thanks for putting your perspective.
