What is a test case?
A step by step instruction written in a detailed manner with steps to be performed and expected result for any given functionality is called a Test case.
Where to write a test case?
In companies test cases are written in any of the Test Management Software like HP ALM, qTest, TestRail, Rally etc.
How to log effort in Jira for the test case development or for any activity, how to execute the test cases and mark the status. How to report a bug and link the test case status with bug are few things that we will be discussing in this video.

Theres nothing much to do on DB testing as a tester. There will be DB admins, they will take care of that. As a tester you will execute a query and check it the result is present in db as per requirement. Pls watch must have java concepts for selenium testers Playlist. There is a video for connecting to DB. That will be the role for most testers.

Without the product , you wont be able to test right? Developer has to deliver something to the testing team to test it. Second part of your question I don't understand

I might have done something wrong. Preparation of test cases is a task, executing the test cases is a separate task. If you write test cases, that effort should be under, preparation sub task, when you execute the test cases those efforts have to be logged under test execution sub task.

If the test management tool that you are using doesn’t have option to link jira issues, then u can’t do it. If you are using my video as a reference, probably there could be a change in the software that I used
