Close, however, the unpleasant smell is usually due to you having a dirty cabin air filter. If you haven’t changed it yourself in the last 3 to 6 months, go ahead and do it. It’s usually located inside of your glove box. You might have to takeoff a couple screws and purchased a filter from your local auto parts store, there shouldn’t be any unpleasant smells after that

Rolling the windows down in combination with the AC is a MUST if you want to cool an extremely HOT car down in a reasonable amount of time. Sometimes you have to leave the windows down even after the AC blows cold, in EXTREME heat I leave them down until it's the same temp in the car as outside. Living in the sub-tropics or southern states will teach you this. It's really something you have to do if you need to get in the car and leave in less than 20 minutes. Also the steering wheel gets too hot to touch - so get get a non plastic steering wheel wrap. I put a thermometer in the car in August once, with windows up and about an hour ½ later it was 245°F inside.

Windshield Fogged: click the front defogger button and let the car do the rest, same with the rears. Entering the car after its heated up in direct sunlight: roll down the windows for 3-4 Minutes, then use the AC. there is no need to change unnecessary settings and wasting time

They are not unnecessary settings. They have a purpose. The recycle air button keeps bad air from coming in and saves gas. Opening the vents allows fresher air to come in when starting the car. Even if you open the doors or windows, the effect on AC is better venting to start. Plus, venting helps keep your cabin air filter from getting moldy.
