Your video was posted 2 yrs ago but only now I've came across it (because only now I'm searching for solutions to my recent problem). On a balcony here at my place I had to make a new sand/cement screed which I did for the first time in my live and completely on my own. Which means I had to mix the screed in a big bucket, apply it to the floor, check levels, etc and then repeat about 16 times necessary to cover the small balcony. And to top it all it was a pretty warm day, 25°C plus...Well the result was a very weak screed at places which I repaired by taking off as much as I could the more lose parts and patch it with a new cement mix...Its a mess but its also a balcony we don't really use. So my dilema is, (for the sake of getting the balcony waterproof) would an epoxy floor ( primer + self leveling + epoxy layer) do the job? Taking it that I will do a good job of applying the epoxy of course? I know, soo many questions but in reality I'm a bit stuck here...🙏 Thanks for your help...

Epoxy should not be applied outdoors as it will crack under the sunlight exposure. You want to consider a polyurethane wateproofing material that is suitable for outdoors instead.I would advise multiple priming to strengthen the cement and then apply a polyurethane on top to properly seal it

I have concrete countertops with a raw edge. I would like to create a clean edge. I don't want to grind or cut it as it's thin in some places. I thought I could build a frame/mold situation and fill in the rough edge with epoxy. The concrete is solid, not soft. Would this work?

What do you think about a concrete garage floor where there’s a lot of aggregate showing? It’s in good shape other then that. Very minimal patching for cracks with an epoxy patch kit, but do I need to patch all these areas where it’s down to the aggregate. Just curious if the epoxy coating covers this? What’s ur best advice for me thanks

What exactly is the difference between diamond grinding new pour self leveling compund layer vs simply broom finishing the new poured self leveling comound. That pits the groves for the epoxy to adhere no? I don't want or have ro diamond grind and seems a good alternative ?

I would strengthen and tighten that crumbling, loose, powdery concrete by trenching it with an acrylic, polymer admixture before trying to put anything over powdery loose concrete.

I pray you see this comment and respond. I live in the Caribbean where we use cement bricks and plaster to build homes. Galvanize roofs and all that. We mainly have tile available here and everybody tiles everything for the most part like kitchen, bathroom countertops and floors...walls etc. My question is, can epoxy be used directly on concrete surfaces like a kitchen counter or concrete pattern wall. Where cement plaster was used to make the wall look like stone, so a very bumpy plaster and not a smooth wall plaster. In the shower as well. I wanted to know if we could just paint the shower walls with epoxy? And not just a simple one coat clear epoxy but the granite, marble look epoxy on the walls. Can it just be painted on the wall and how would I go about that? What would the prep need to be? Sand the walls till smooth, prime sith epoxy primer and then pour from the top , the different epoxy colors to get my marble look, then brush them in maybe (with what kind of brush? A sponge brush? If that is what I do.) Then blow torch the whole thing for bubbles n such??? Not even sure epoxy is available for us to buy here but I still would like to try it and would love to know how to apply it directly to concrete walls. Pray you see this. Thank you

Hi a lot of different questions here, and I am not sure I understood them all. A few points: - Epoxy can be used on walls but only in very thin coats, otherwise you will get drip marks. It cannot be used as a leveler on rough plaster walls - If you want granite look on walls, there are better products than epoxy. Try microcement for example - Shower walls with epoxy is common and it is a good waterproofing solution

Yes grinding and polishing sounds great. And you could always coat a UV resistant varnish if you want the floor to look better. Epoxy is not recommended for outdoors anyways because it is not UV resistant

@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin9448

No absolutely not. Epoxy is waterproof and concrete needs water to bond. So the concrete will never properly stick to the epoxy

@@bluseybmth7569 if I need to break up in sections I recommend using a high quality blue tape in between sections. So after the first section has dried apply a blue tape to mark the continuation. This way you will have a straight fine line rather than a smudgy joint

Make sure that you prime the self leveling cement first as such products can be quite porous. Other than that epoxy should stick on the self leveling cement. Occasionally I see cement fails when the self leveling hasn't stuck well to the rough concrete underneath

@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin9448

in general I recommend only using epoxy based products for the floor. A general purpose concrete primer (like acrylic) is a much weaker primer in terms of tensile strength. So you would have tough concrete, tough epoxy and a weak layer in between. Dont recommend this

Can i do epoxy on top of cocrete paint?
@learncoatings-epoxyfloorin9448

Most concrete paint tends to be acrylic based. A strong chemical like epoxy is likely to damage the paint and may cause shriveling and breaking of the undecoat. I recommend removing it first. If you cant remove it, seal with a really solid epoxy primer first
