Dobry Den Richard. I would like to thank you very much for your videos. I recently visited Prauge and knew no Czech about a week before I left and with your help and my own stupid process of remembering eg...(narodni = Naa Rodney with Del boy in mind) I spoke in Czech for much of my visit, even having the confidence to try to buy a phone charger from the MyTesco from a guy who didn't speak English on my first day. I was complemented on my speech and czech writing with the hacek (sorry I need to work out how to do it on a keyboard) and I have to thank you for that. I only could watch about 30 of your videos before I left, but now I'm watching the rest and planning my next visit as I enjoyed speaking Czech so much. It's a shame you have not carried on your videos as you are a great teacher and it dosen't feel like a chore to learn from you, it just feels like a friend is encouraging you along, even when he sometimes makes his own mistakes. Such a shame you didn't continue Richard because yours is the best Czech learning tool on the internet for English speakers and now I will be going over your lessons again to get down gender, tense, accusitive etc, just to build on my book learning. As there are not many people who can present a new language in such a enjoyable fashion. Anyway all the best Rich Hodne stesti. Dykuji

I really hope you make another lesson soon. The past 3 have been a big improvement for me. Im a Canadian living in the Usti region. I have family here and im actually half czech but never learned it as a child. Im using a step by step book, and also observing from everyday interactions, but I want to learn as much as possible. I applaud you very much for taking your time to teach, as there are not many youtube videos with such diversity explaning the language.

Hi Rich, I just randomly noticed your Czech learning videos (i'm czech)... Man, they are great! I must admit I you made me smile :) You have some of the best videos for foreigners how to improve their skills. There are many others vids mostly with teacher/school stuff, eh...I dont like that. I would definitely recommend your work to any visitors who do not won't to be completely lost. I think that most of czech people are pleased if anybody just try to speak czech (even badly) a little. Some czechs are a bit annoyed of ppl who speaks directly in english when asking for direction for example. Good job you have done! PS: I love the video about about Pub phrases (lessons 5) and this leads me to an idea. DId you tried to make a video of czech customs? (X-max excluded, I did it already :) ) Meaning when you went to your friend appartment and friend says: "Make yourself at home / You don't have to take off your shoes before coming indoor" - well it basically means the opposite, It's weird but we expect that you DEFINITELY take your shoes off. :) I know it's not about grammar/vocabulary and such, but i could be funny, cuz many ppl also didn't know this "differences". Hope to see your next lesson soon :)

+Snyf ze Vsi Hi Snyf, thanks so much for writing and giving me your feedback and suggestion. The idea about customs is really good and I'll try to make some time for it. Unfortunately I have not made many videos recently but I will surely get back into making some soon :) Thanks again for watching and writing

Dekuji Rich. Very helpful. Looking forward to your next videos. Are there any dual language ebooks for Czech and English? That would help me a lot.
@LearnCzechwithRich8 жыл бұрын
Hi Adarsh, good question, to be honest i do not know the answer. There certainly are dual language books but i do not know about ebooks. If i find any or hear of any, I will let you know? Rich

I'm sorry to see that this is the last video about learning Czech :( But I kinda understand you may not feel this anymore - I had a site with recipes, everyone is telling me I should go back to taking care of it, cause I was great, but I don't feel it anymore. So I won't be such person to ask for more of your videos :) Thank you very much for those 50 lessons. I'm a Pole trying to learn Czech, for me it's easier than for English people, but still it's hard! You've been a major motivation and help for me and I loved your lessons tak děkuju moc a měj se hezky :)

Thanks for your kind message Maria, I do intend to get back to this at some point, but I have been saying that for a long time now. :) It always surprises me that so many people have seen my videos and that some people are kind enough to write and tell me that the videos were useful. Good luck with your studies! Rich

Hi Rich. I know this sounds lazy but I wondered, while getting to grips with perfective and imperfective verbs, would you still be understood by a Czech person if you used one rather than the other. Would this cause a lot of confusion?
@LearnCzechwithRich8 жыл бұрын
+Steve Skotsko Hi Steve, if you made a mistake with this people would instantly know you are foreign, however, you would nearly always be understood. I make mistakes with this all the time, so I really would not worry about it. Languages are just communication tools, understanding and being understood - it is much better to just try and not get stressed about whether every little detail is correct. Good luck :) Rich
