Did I miss something or Paul did not check grounding on cartridge itself? Lots of rumors that those cartridges (original AND "generics") have very short lifespan, less than T12s.

You didn’t measure tip to earth potential and check if the tip is earthed (specs: 2 Ohm,

Seems like its a downgrade from their previous stations. IDK if the jbc tip is a pro or a con because they are way expensive than the t12. And its very hard to get the original one in different regions.

@@andrewsawesomenot Chinese tips. I’ve seen some that look like the tips are press fit over the top. Look at the join between tip and the main shaft of the cartridge. It’s not one piece. With original JBC, the outside is one continuous surface.

c210 tip is so responsive that I can not return to the t12 soldering station again.

I'm not a big fan of manufacturers using epoxy in their devices. Such a hassle to disassemble for repairs or salvaging.

💀 That station is dangerous 💀 Tiny air gap & one layer of insulation by the PSU screw terminals and exposed pads of the iron connector. Live wire could fall out or have loose strand and make the iron connector live. In 240v land it is very spicy indeed. Regardless, such a small gap and one layer insulation is not okay. Wires need to be sleeved, soldered to PSU and silastic’d in place. Or redesign the product.
