Some great Plasticity videos. I love to learn and create something I can print and use.

Awesome! There will be more 3dp videos. With this ring set if you make it taller than 12mm or you make the gap .2mm its a much tighter fit. 0.4mm is kind of the default to work on all printers for PIP models.

Nice one! I'm new to Plasticity, so this video was really helpful to introduce some of the concepts. I would recommend wider rings so the they dont fall out so easily (~15 mm) and also a bit tighter gap between the rings (~0.25 mm). For the repeated patterns around the rings, I've found it much easier to deform just one section of the pattern and then use "radial array" to fill in the rest of the pattern. It helps so you get an even spacing and avoid getting gaps on one side of the ring.

Thanks for the tips! The one i have on my desk for meetings is around 25mm tall and the rings dont fall out. The one from the video I actually do take apart and just play with one of the rings :) I did this one smaller so it could print quicker honestly. I am able to get away with .2mm gap on my Bambu but on my older Ender printer I had to run the larger gap or else they would bind together. Great tip on the pattern!

Thanx, great video. Made one and it works fine on my A1 mini. Must learn more about unwrap. Do some tire patterns.

Awesome! Yeah a tire pattern would be fun to do. Just don't stop short on the outside like I did in the video :). Remember when using Deform that the reference face (unwrapped in this case), its size relative to your tread pattern is critical. I like unwrap because then you can draw your pattern to scale.

@@LearnEverythingAboutDesign I was thinking about how you should solve the spacing . So I tried to consider that when I made a much simpler pattern compared to one from tire. All your tutorials are great.

Great video, I was able to repeat everything except the "unwrap" step. The program draws an incomprehensible line instead of a sheet :'(

hmmm. Try doing the unwrap from an ortho view like Front or Top and see if that does anything different. I haven't come across that problem myself so I am not sure why it would give you a line.
