Actually, if you really think about it. It's not that hard. Though it is time consuming since you'll be working with multiple layers and you still have to time it perfectly. Everything else is easy. It just takes time.

That was a long one, but it IS an involved meme to recreate. So bully on you for tackling it! And it's good to have a reasonably basic 3D camera tutorial to play with and get familiar with using 3D space in AE. Thanks man! ...also, just curious, masking an item out in AE vs. masking in Photoshop (and utilizing all their ever-improving mask assisting tools) and then outputting a PNG with transparency? (or even saving it as a PSD with only the masked layer turned on) Is there an AE resource reason you're masking in AE instead of Photoshop? Or is it just wanting to keep the user in AE for simplicity sake? Why you do this? :)

I have a problem, in case you wanna answer. I am new to after effects so maybe I am missing something. I isolated the part of the video which I want to be in the meme in the different project. Then, when I added it to The project, the center of the clip won't move and the camera is probably somehow affected by it. If you could help me I d really be happy :). I am already subbed.

Explain why are you using 3d camera space when you can just use Z dist? At the end of the day it would look the same or im wrong?

Doing 1 animation on the camera makes it so you don't have to do individual animations per layer. If you have 40 layers in the project, that would become very time consuming and rather annoying if you had to change something (or multiple things)

7:49 how do you set a keyframe position?

First, you click the layer (in this case It’s the camera) then you hit p on your keyboard to bring up the position property of the camera (this is the shortcut, u can twirl down the sections one by one if u want) there’s going to be an empty circle to the left ; that’s called the stopwatch. You position the time indicator (the blue arrow) wherever you want the keyframe to be and click the stopwatch. You made a keyframe. After u have clicked the stopwatch once, It’s going to remain blue for that layer and whenever you move the time indicator somewhere else and make a change, a new keyframe is going to be added automatically.
