Oh my goodness I have only just found this that you attended. I attended a session in Doncaster last week and I am so glad I did this. My mare LuLu is only coming up five and I am so very focussed on doing the right thing for LuLu to give her the best chance, but I wanted to also have a look at how I ride. I have only ever had three riding lessons, two of them on LuLu, so I know that there is so much that I dont know and doing my session on Haarold confirmed it. I absolutely loved it and I am going back in a month to see if I have been able to work on the areas that needs work. ie my right side is so much stronger than my left and I had (like you Miri) very little impact with my left bum cheek LOL. It was actually really good to watch your session because it reminded me of a couple more things that I have to work on before my next session. Brilliant, like you I think more people should do this, as we put so much emphasis on how our horses move, but hey are we actually assisting them or are we actually making harder for them with their balance.

Love this! Making yourself vunerable by showing this showes courage and confidence. Awesome❤ Dont have a mechanical horse nearby, but found out that Alexandrer method and Feldenkrais is suppose to help with body-awarness. Holey Cow! I did NOT realized how my body was habitually " mis-alined"🙈😂😂 Changing my "off" habits during regular life has certainly made a difference in awarness what my body ( and its individual parrts) are doing while i ride my Ever Fogiving lil mare.

These mechanical horses can show us how forgiving our horses are and how they often compensate for our faults.

I had a session with one of these horses recently - so interesting to see what small changes can make to your posture.

Also undervalued: fitness. We need to be working out rigorously in order to maintain enough fitness to be able to ride correctly and not fall into bad habits that negatively affect our horses. If you are not going to the gym, you are probably not in great riding shape (unless you’re riding many many hours a day, but i don’t know any professionals who aren’t going to the gym).

That was brilliant and we all should be made aware of the fact that our weight affects the horse so much. Maybe a lot of horse injuries are caused by bad riding . food for thought

So interesting. I've seen these horses used by eventers before but never for ground work. So good for improvement. And even for jumpers you still spend more time on the ground than jumping. Awareness is everything.

Você parece com a percussionista Lucy Landmore. Sou do Brasil. O ruim é que o video não é em português.

Horse owners need to understand they have a mental health also! So many owners are so selfish and really don't understand?
