I was pleasantly surprised to see that unlike most news medias, you guys genuinely wanted to know about the fandom and weren't trying to meet your own agenda! I’m gonna be attending Anthrocon with one of my best friends tomorrow. I’ve never officially interacted with fellow furries in a convention like this, don’t get me started on how brutally excited I am. Being in this community is honestly a magical experience. Sure, people may look down on us and see us as freaks, or there may be some tiny portions of negativity in the community; But hey! We all push that aside!! The furry experience is filled with so much love, more than you could ever imagine. I gotta say, out of all the subcultures/communities I’m in, the furry community has to be the most accepting towards me thus far. Cheers to everyone attending Anthrocon, I hope to see y’all soon!!

Update, since y’all were asking: That was quite Literally the best con I’ve ever been to. I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much on the ride home. I got to meet so many of my idols, I got to do so many things. I went to the raves, I shopped in the dealers den, I joined the parade, I watched the floor wars and dance competition. It was as if all of my anxieties had vanished those four days. I’ve only had positive interactions in the furry fandom, and this is inspiring me to stand up against anti-furs; to open up their eyes and realize, hey! Furries are amazing people, and they’ve absolutely saved my life and made it brighter. I joined the fandom in 2018, I hadn’t ever interacted with a furry irl until now. It was like I had been hiding in a closet this whole time, and now I’ve rushed out of it like a cocoon. I hope everyone else had an outstanding time as much as I did

I have been to AC once... And in the coming years it is still top of the list to go there again. It is just incredible how welcoming this city is toward the fandom, a rare sight but one I hope will become more common. Just thinking 5-10 years back our fandom was completely closed off to big media outlets due to harassment and wrong representation. But seeing you guys being completely open, respectful, and excited for the upcoming convention is great to see.

Yeah, the one time I went to Anthrocon back in 2013, I had a blast and the city was so pretty! I just never got the funding to be able to go again since. Hell I barely had the money to at the time, but it was still fun!
