Steve, I think you do a great job, playing guitar and teaching, and I thank you for all your effort that you put into your videos. The fact that you took your time and energy to introduce. These other players speaks very highly to me of your own integrity, thank you.

Thanks, I appreciate you saying that! Means a lot 🙏

Awesome video. I'm just beginning, trying to learn country, after focusing on Blues. Country seems to be much more technical to learn.

It certainly has its challenges but you got it!

Big fan of Jason Laughlin though I don't think of him as only a country guitarist. As mentioned he is a gifted teacher. What I am most drawn to is the breadth of different genres he explores. I really applaud this list list and love this channel too btw.

First, love your channel. I bought a Princeton because I like your tone so much. Your playing is awesome... Other channels - Tom Bukovak. Some instruction, but great tone and great stories.

Steve, you do a great job! I can actually now play what resembles a country solo bc of you. 👊🏻 And I was introduced to Jason Laughlin through you and he’s amazing. My current go-to as I really dig into country guitar.

He nailed every channel I have watched or seen that are valuable - and then Steve! I have actually gotten a lot out of this channel. I am intermediate trying to make the leap - the old Ken Carlson video of working man set me on may way. Feedback for any of those channels- good lessons have a beginning, middle and end - with a clear line of sight on what’s being taught - clear on the chords, intervals etc. backing tracks and tabs are a bonus - complete songs a bonus. Another guy I like a lot Alex Farran - very high quality and a mix of genres. Thanks, Steve!

I use all 4 of them lol. Don't forget about Andy Wood and of course Johnny Highland. Been playing since '72 and still learn great variations from all of those guy's. Honestly, Steve Harms is the 5th on that list...

You should start by actually being from the country. By being a country boy. Living a rural, blue collar, working man lifestyle. Getting your hands dirty. Loving family, faith, and the United States of America. If you're none of this, don't bother. You can't fake it. You may fool yourself. You may fool your big city friends. But you'll be spotted immediately by real Country musicians. Just like rolling into Chicago from L. A. trying to be a Blues player. Don't waste your time. Embrace your own musical heritage. Be you. You'll never find complete fulfillment pretending to be something you're not.
@stevetharmsАй бұрын
That’s good advice, thanks!

There's lots of videos out there that just teach in terms of licks. Not many talking about the scales

Sometimes you gotta dig deep and teach the “boring” stuff too 😂
