There are 'floor-length' skirts and there are mini skirts. 8 down is 'ate at'. I've heard of '10 cent words and a 50 cent dictionary', meaning one who uses simple language - and now I've heard of a 'ten dollar dictionary'. Impart usually means to give or bestow; I suppose 'lend' works, but it's not a common definition. You did fine today, and if just one of the puzzle busters had come to you (I kept shouting 'deerstalker' at you but you apparently didn't hear!) life would have been a lot easier today. I think maybe Lilly being off napping (or wherever she was) and not helping Dad today made a difference. :) And maybe I missed it, but I didn't see your water jug either. Gotta stay hydrated!
