Learning Habsburg - Level 1 | Spirit Island

Let's learn Habsburg Livestock Colony!
I've played a lot of Spirit Island, but very little with the HLC adversary. In this series of videos, I will go through each level of HLC, (hopefully) learning more about how to handle the adversary at each step. To keep as much constant as possible for this first pass, I will be using the same spirits and boards for each game.

I'm looking forward to watching Lightning deal with Durable towns. Not only won't they be able to deal with Explorers, they'll also find that they can't deal with Towns. Should be fun!!

@@kalennoreth I don't know about you, but I've noticed a massive uptick in the number of "Urbanization"-style Events since the JE content was added. The number of times that an event has just doubled the number of towns on the board, or converted half of them into Cities, has just been ridiculous. Really not what you need when playing Habsberg - especially Level 4 or above!

2:22 was there a particular reason that you created a sacred site in A2 rather than A4? It seems to me that A4 gives (slightly) better board coverage.

It allows to River's Bounty into A2. Defending it (instead of Massive Flooding later) is a good plan too, especially with a partnered Spirit that can hit it

Yeah, gambling on getting a defend and having the ability to use range 0 powers is the best argument I could give in hindsight. Honestly, though, it was at least partially just thinking "River! Wetland! Sacred Site!" because that's how I've ingrained River strategy into my head XD

@@kalennoreth I did wonder whether the River:Wetland:Sacred Site auto-response was a factor. I know I fall into that "trap" on occasion and then think "hang on, was that really the best move?" (usually sometime around when I draw Sacred Sites Under Threat!)
