I've never made a video like this and it was pretty fun to make. Its an edit of my progression, which mostly consists of me falling on my face a ton. This is the work that goes behind all the downhill videos I make. Have fun watching me get hurt. Haha

Nice progress man! I actually learned stand up slides first and am now working on getting my glove slides down. A word of advice, when you're learning stand ups, it may make it easier to work on doing 180's at lower speeds first to get a feel for them and then work on holding them out from there. Either way, keep it up!

Thank you so much for checking out the video MAXX! I've been working alot on standups and am very comfortable heelside but my toesides are still sketchy. If your interested to see where I'm at now the video I posted its like called longboarding downhill and slides I think but, the first part is downhill and the second part has some slides :)

Open those shoulders down hill on the toesides stand ups when your just trying to scrub.. Also on the heal side it's important to keep your weight up front a little and push that front foot down the road . This pushing it out action helps you accomplish the downhill stand up. Also that left turn that your practicing ally-oop squaties, you need to SET UP CARVE!!!! set up carve is so important when your learning stand ups. You need to be an entire carve ahead of your slide when your planning out when and where you want to slide . Start big but as you get better you will be able to shorten then up.. ( this goes for just in general too, but especially when sliding against the turn or in a straight). Sorry about the novel but your doing great.

Yes dude forsure! You dont have to send it this hard but the full protection gives you enough confidence to fall without worrying about getting hurt. You will learn alot faster if you have the confidence to send it haha

Wet pavement is VERY tricky - it starts to slide and at one moment you reach not so wet part where your wheels stuck and then you fly forward from your board. I also tried it and it turned out to be a bad idea. Try to learn on dry pavement and just to stop as lean back and kick the board for heelslide. That worked better for me.
@JeremyBoyes
@JeremyBoyes 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah wey pavement is soooo icey dude! I skate in all conditions but actually learning on wet pavement was pretty rough for sure. I feel pretty confident in my stand up slides now, if you wanna see the progress check out my second to last video called something like "longboarding downhill and slides " most of the standies are in the second portion of it

Did your new wheels make a difference? If so, what wheels did you go with?
@JeremyBoyes
@JeremyBoyes 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Tommey! Thanks for checking out my video and also yeah I have experimented with alot of wheels 😎, you can skate hard on most wheels and it can be a preference type thing. Also depened on the kind of skating you are wanting to do will depend on what wheels you go with. For me when im doing slide practice or slower free ride I prefer powell peraltra snakes 🐍 69mm(maximum slip), for fast freeride i prefer krimes (hybrid of slip and grip), for highspeed or racing i prefer seismic alphas or venom mags (maximum grip, super powerful shut down slides)
