You handled that security guy perfectly. So glad you stood your ground and didn’t let you get your rights violated. He was in the wrong... no law was broken... you had more to fear from him than the other way around and you dealt with it exactly right.
@chesslover8829 Жыл бұрын
If the run-in with the security guard occurred in the United States and if you did not commit a felony in his presence, the security guard has no powers of arrest in regards to you, and he cannot detain you. In fact, you don't even need to talk with him. He is not a law enforcement officer.
@Raumweiter Жыл бұрын
exactly the same happened to me last weekend in Germany. Annoying security guard approaching me agressively. I thought i might explain to him what i´m doing and it will be fine, but it wasn´t. I would have been okay with it, if he explained to me that he might get in trouble for it, i would respect that. He was just annoying as hell, and so for me the moment was destroyed completely and a nice afternoon shoot with an approaching thunderstorm just became ugly.

I've recently started using my analogue cameras again, black & white was always my thing back in the 90s. Ilford my choice of stock. I find the HP5+ pretty forgiving, specially during development. I'd recommend grabbing some colour filters, definitely at least a yellow, an ND filter is a great tool for black and white too, not only for contrast but enables you to take longer exposure shots. Currently looking into a medium format camera!

Great video! My HP5 is on the way for my 6x6 cam, and My Nikon F4. The one time I was challenged, I stopped at an old cabin by the road. Right away I was surrounded by Police Officers. They asked me what I was doing, and I said I wanted a photo of that old cabin. they said that's great, just don't take a picture of the facility BEHIND you. It was a low security prison. I did not know. They were great guys and understood what I was doing. Just remember to look around where you are for situational awareness. Some places don't like photos. Cheers!

Black Magic 6k. Mainly rocking the sigma 18-35 as the glass. A lot of comments are saying I was using a lot of pro mist. It actually was so humid out that my lens was fogging from the rain. And the temperature difference coming in and out of my car, also made it look like that.

You first mistake was pulling over for someone who wasn't law enforcement on a public road. If he was just a security guard I wouldn't have even pulled over. Security guard is not law enforcement. Just keep driving.
@morethanyoucaretosee3 жыл бұрын
To be clear. He came down a one way road (the wrong way) and I was driving down it too (the right way)He pulled his car beside mine. I think you misheard, this happened at the power plant visitor’s center (where I had not taken any photos) which is not public property.
@andyvan56923 жыл бұрын
THE issue, is that you took a photo of a NUCLEAR power plant, and this could be construde as "reconnasance" , like in the MILLITARY, ie, before an airforce bomber takes flight (target photos!!!), or like taking photos inside a bank( to plan a robbery), or other public office (council/government building); remember 9/11??, THATS why people are 'scared' by this, what you should have done in hindsight, is go to the plant's visitors centre, and ASKED FIRST, or contact local council for a 'PERMIT' to do it.
