I'm pretty sure there are some workshops around your area. Maybe a collaboration with a building school where teenagers show you how to do construction stuff. That would be fun and humbled at the same time. And provide valuable information on different paths teenagers can take to have a very successful career other than science and computers. My two cents here.

We have a saying here in the Netherlands "Morgenrood, water in de sloot" Basically translates as when you have a morning red sky, you'll be getting water in the ditch. In other words. There's rain approaching.

Some drywall tips...Most inexperienced drywallers will run a sheet up to the edges of a window or door and fill in above or below with a small piece, like you did. The joints at the corners of the windows or doors will most likely crack later if you do that. Rule of thumb is to not break a sheet within 6" of a corner like that. Ideally, you could break it half way over the window or door, which also leaves you fewer seams to tape. If you want to learn more about hanging and finishing drywall, I'd recommend Vancouver Carpenter's YT channel. Lots and lots of good advice there, including how to prefill the larger cracks, like where the ceiling met the angled wall, before you do the taping. Good luck with the Amazing Race Canada. You can't tell us if you get on, but you'll most likely tell us if you don't. So, if there's silence, we'll know!!

I love the Amazing Race! Y'all will do great! Some tips from a long time TAR watcher: make sure you can read a map, drive a stick, always keep track of your gear when leaving a challenge, read your clues twice and thoroughly, and lastly, enjoy your surroundings and have fun! Good luck!

In Downeast Maine we say, "Red skies at night - Sailors delight. Red skies in morning - Sailors take warning." I've never heard the scientific explanation as to why it happens that way, but it sure seems reliable. I appreciate the mudding lessons. I think we could all help out now. When lifting furniture or things like dry wall use your dominate hand on the bottom to lift and your other hand to steady the item. You don't need to put your hand on top to steady it.
