Repeating my comment from yesterday, just so more people know about it. There is a similar extension for KZbin as well! Another up-vote for the beta version of Language Learning with KZbin extension. The downside is that it uses Google's auto-transcribe and auto-translate if the subtitles don't exist for the video, but at the same time, it's also an upside, because you can't just read passively. I find myself constantly checking and rechecking the sounds I am hearing with what the sub-titles (in both languages ) say to verify if they're correct and make sense or not. ¡Se la recomiendo!

Thank you so much Luca. This is such an amazing tool. I remember when I started learning Spanish, I used to download subtitles from RTVE and then use a dictionary, google translate and a grammar book to decipher every single phrase. It used to take me about a month to go through a 1 hour show. This tool is the real deal.

I watched an episode of Friends in Italian using the extension and I found it pretty helpful. I then just listened to it in Italian. It would be nice if they launch this on mobile and iPads. Language learning is becoming more and accessable. 💕

I've been wondering for years if such a convenient tools for language learners existed ! Sometimes I watch a series and I have to pause to change the subtitles language to check the translation and it's so annoying ! I tell myself "I wish there was a way to have double subtitles" ! when i was learning spanish, both my audio and subtitle were in spanish since my listening comprehension was still lagging compared to my reading comprehension and i think it still is lol.therefore it was harder to understand spanish words when they talk too fast. now, having 2 subtitles at the same time would make watching netflix a bit easier.

Thank you for sharing Luca :) This is so great as many shows only have subtitles in their own language when you live in the same country. It opens a much broader spectrum of learning from dramas and movies that one is interested in, but maybe like me was turned off when you could only understand 20% and no foreign subtitle was available.

I´m asking this to you because, when I watch the French series "Lupin", there are some filler words that are not translated into my native language, which is Spanish, so I don't know if it's because of the extension itself or if I've done something wrong. PS: You´ve said in other commentary that this extension is free, but in my case the "modo de prueba" ("Trial Mode", is this right?) has been activated (or it might have been me who did it, too). I just searched Language Learning with Netflix Chrome Web Store and selected it. It's free, too. Now I just wish I could use it on a Smart TV. Edited: if you want to use some of the extra features like saving vocabulary, it's an upgrade for $4.95.

Type in www.netflix.com/browse/audio This will bring up any programs with audio available in any requested language. However, if you are watching a show dubbed into what is not the original language, for example, a Spanish TV show dubbed into French, the subtitles will probably not match with the audio.
