Fantastic. This way of teaching promotes a lot of engagement and fun. Students certainly will acquire more easily the language.

A repetition-based learning for new vocabulary, including verbs, the massive world of phrasal verbs and idioms, and adjectives and nouns is a valid and favourable method to instill. No wonder these kids learn quickly as simple words as car, plane, teddy bear and doll, because the teacher repeat the words to death

cool video. thanks for sharing. i have question to ask. how do you do assessments or check for understanding, if you are doing whole class/group activities, where 1 child answers the right answer first and you have others who might be mimicking the answers. Example: see the video at 4.00. Are you using a modeling approach/theory? At 4:16-17 of the video, a child answers teddy and teacher says yes. So, was he was reinforcing a wrong answer. Association to positive reinforcement? Like what happens when you have kids answering wrong. Do you disregard the wrong answers and just focus the on right answers....cause you don't want too much negative feedback? I'm looking for research on feedback and assessments. If there are good articles, please share. Much appreciated.

A great video; is there a textbook/Teacher's Book that incorporates all these lessons? I would love to have it. This is the first year I am teaching children after teaching adults and teenagers for many years, and this is really helpful.

why did he switch from teddy to teddy bear?
@IK1212667 жыл бұрын
The students know the word bear fom their mother tongue (Baer in German).
@painetcirque56955 жыл бұрын
For the same reason he switched from a word to a new one. In this case, Teddy, however a name, it's just another word to learn. Progressive and by association learning.

it`s so boring if i use these methodes to my chinese students they will start talk to each other or turn backs to me it`s not fun way to teach english. you should try to teach in china to see if this can work or not
@LFCfan1993LFC6 жыл бұрын
I agree - but the Chinese kindergarten kids generally understand less than these, I'm guessing European kids, so naturally, they tend to switch off far quicker.
@LFCfan1993LFC6 жыл бұрын
For instance, I could never play the 'which is it?' game as they wouldn't understand what I am saying - even with a TA to translate, it is still difficult - unless it is practiced over a semester.

How do they spell CAR in England? It sounds like he is teaching those poor kids to say the sound of a crow. CAW CAW NOT car. Sad how they butcher their own language like that.
