I still can't do this on command, but the trick that is helping me the most (and helped get it for the first time) was to "blow out one birthday candle" and then put my tongue in position. Having the lip shape correct before my tongue was a game changer. Oh, and for me personally, I find it easier when I try to use as little tongue pressure as possible. As a non-beatboxer, it's so satisfying when I do it correctly! Good luck to me and everybody else in my shoes.

since making the "o" shape mouth while doing an arch or a half shaped moon tongue position (forward to the upper lip), when letting the air out it's almost like doing a whistle in a sense, of course everything has a pattern, and they do take time to learn, so i practice them a lot. also at 6:00 you kind of go it from xin's breathing exercise(inhale & exhale) the sound effect is amazing !!!

Position your tongue and give simple puffs and move with the position of your mouth until the sound comes out. Then you try to open and close it, I learned that way.

I started to get results faster as I started blowing air to the side of my mouth (or both sides) as if I was doing a K snare sound...obvious without doing the K snare sound and trying to transition into the poh snare...if that makes sense...after that I started experimenting.
