Any follow ups to this video? What did you learn in your data collection? What tips have you developed for finding gold without having a specialized gold detector? Did you change your locations or are you in the same places as where you found silver? Do you just bypass silver signals now, or are you still digging them? Lots of questions this video raises!

Rusty, thanks for this video. I have sorta become obsessed with gold, too. Been detecting for 2 years. Found around 150 silvers (coins and jewelry). Have a honey hole where I've dug over 40 silver coins and hundreds of wheaties. But still no gold! Been going back lately just concentrating on the low tones. Have found around 25 Vs and buffs I had missed before. And a boatload of trash! I'm not logging the data... but, I gotta be due for that yellow shiny to pop out soon. The odds are in my favor! Thanks again for the inspiration, and I hope to see more of your digs, soon... even if it is just boring, old silver! Happy hunting.

Some parks i hunt have alot of emi have to drop sensitive i use the 13 inch coil to make up for the depth loss what do u think of the 15 inch coil would that be a good Investment ive found jewellery no silver coin yet i have to learn how to hunt deep
@rustycraig35366 жыл бұрын
Depth is only one factor when it comes to finding sivler and learning to find super deep targets can take a lot of practice and the right conditions. If you want silver this week go door knock a bunch of 1940's homes, use the stock coil, don't spend more than 1 hour at a site if you haven't found a wheatie yet. After a few sites you will have your silver.

@jsksharp17 жыл бұрын
If you want to get on gold, come out with us in California and go nugget shooting! We do really well, when it comes to vlf machines/coin machines, I’d stick to silver. I’m pretty sure your case study will show the odds of finding gold to silver. I think with either silver or gold, location and having it there to find is 90% of the battle. Good luck in your journey, and don’t give up on the silvery completely, that’s the bread and butter
@cutaplug7 жыл бұрын
Cali sounds like a fun place to find gold nuggets for sure =) What I'm primarily focusing on is the untapped potential that we have everywhere around the U.S. in the form of jewelry at public and private places. The gold is there but there needs to be a good way to find it effectively. I was told by a minelab engineer that it wasn't possible on the CTX 3030 to distinguish silver dimes from clad times but after a lot of hours I was easily able to do that with almost the same success rate as I have with the etrac. I think the human mind has so much potential if given enough data to process and I'd like to see if with enough training the brain can tell the difference between trash and gold jewelry. If not yet then there just isn't a detector that provides the mind with enough info to decipher yet. Maybe soon there will be.
@jsksharp17 жыл бұрын
Cutaplug Metal Detecting I want to get a CTX3030, but my E-Trac and you know just gives that sweet sound on the silver. I was getting mixed reviews on the CTX, so I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. In your opinion, is the CTX better than the ETrac? Better I mean depth, and accuracy on coins and jewelry. I was told with the CTX the sound doesn’t change like the ETrac and it’s mostly just going off numbers. Let me know what you think, thanks

gday from oz, ive found where you find silver rings theres always gold close, as its a lot easier to find silver you can get an idea of just how many gold items that are hidden,you just have to look at whats on peoples fingers a lot more gold than silver,if you think how many silver rings you find it gives you an idea just how many are lost.the easiest ones I find are the small womans rings they come in just above iron 12..03 to 12..08 on the 3030 out of the pull tab range but still in the foil range with practice you can in about 50% of times tell the difference.disc everything else out so you have nothing else to distract you.have a go picnic areas I like,tot lots also.

I have been hunting for 5 years now and most of my hunting has been on private property that i have gained permission to looking for old coins. I still do this but my goal this year is to dig more gold. I had my best gold year last year with 6 pieces (28.9 grams total). When I hunt for gold I dig it all with whatever machine i am using. Also look for an area of intensity or numbers. Wherever there is intense activity such as sports or swimming jewelry is lost. Also wherever there is a large number of people gathered in a short period of time jewelry is lost.

My personal view is that shooting for silver coins is going to bring diminishing results. hunting only in public spots and on land gold is easiest to find on low to medium trash sports fields and park meadows where likely activities with a lot of movement, sweating and sometimes alcohol took place. As a denser object, gold jewellery should sink a bit deeper than pull tabs. Therefore I will dig all solid/steady signals at 1-2 inches below where most pull tabs I find. This method should increase my gold finding efficiency. I find that gold rings that I dug this year were " louder" sounding mid tones. They were in the 38-42 VDI on my Fisher F4 and at 3-4 inches. There is obviously more variables at play here, but those are the signals I will dig to maximize my chances. Another thing is locations where you find older nickels but little to no silver. It indicates silver shooting in the past. Good luck with your goals. HH. Sebastian

I hope your luck has improved! I don't find too many either. I just found my 8th merc...in 14 years of detecting! I only hunt parks, but in my area (southeast PA), many of the parks are quite new. The oldest parks have been hit hard by everyone with a detector in the past 40 years. So it comes down to dumb luck, or start knocking on doors. I'm pretty sure the crazy successful silver hunters are knocking on doors. Me? I'm happy with clad. More silver would be great, and maybe I'll start knocking on doors next year. But I have very limited time for the hobby at this point of my life...I'd rather grab some quick clad at nearby little league fields or around basketball courts, than spend hours driving looking for just the right place to search for silver. I'll buy silver coins with my clad...🤣 Maybe next year though. Good luck!

@@mikel646 I actually found my first silver a few weeks ago! An 1853 half dime. Didn’t even know they existed. I just got permission at a historical location here in Ohio dating back to 1830’s. It’s about 60 acres so will keep me busy a long time! Happy hunting!
@mikel6462 жыл бұрын
@@westrokker outstanding!! Lots of people have been in this hobby for decades and never came up with a half dime! I got an equinox 600 two years ago, hoping it would help me find some extra silver...I'm actually a bit disappointed in how unstable it is with tones and IDs. The etrac was much better. But the nox kicks butt in the separation department...and it's a fraction of the weight of the etrac. I'm giving serious consideration to getting a Deus 2. Heard lots of good things about it. I'd have to sell some stuff first tho...the deus 2 is pricey. Then there's the manticore coming out...so I have to at least wait for the reviews to come out for that. In the end, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to spend a thousand dollars on a new detector to help me find a hundred dollars in silver. So I'm proceeding with caution. What detector are you using?
