I just came across your video and provide a really nice assessment of the Etrac. I personally never liked the CTX 3030 because they eliminated the high sweet silver tone. You are totally right, audio is the key to the Etrac.

Personal tip, dont use a 2 tone or 60 tone or pitch tone at first, either to confusing or not enough info, I seemed to learn much quicker with 4,6, or I think 15, I think some even have more tones n that is better than not enough tones just not enough consistency for most

I doubled back after 5 years and hoped he would have the same sort of guides for gold. But I guess he may have learned is you have to dig it all when looking for gold.

Believe it or not, I just bought a new E-trac new. I have a Nox 800, but they're running the E-trac out in Australia for like $550usd, so I grabbed one. I'm just trying to get the basic gist of a few things before it turns up tomorrow, to get me started. I'm super interested to see how it goes. A couple of my older friends still swear by it with a 13" or 15" coil and think that I'll get finds from places I've hunted out with the Nox....we'll see :)

Not trying to tell you what to do…. But if I was in your shoes, I’d take a ctx3030 up there with a 17” coil and see if there is more there.

When I detected was sound alone was no vdi on first machine Garett TR machine and back then were low high tones back in the 90s

Yours are THE best videos for learning how to. Your videos describing how to set up a metal detector to coin shoot are my go to videos. One thing, I just got a Equinox 900. It would make my day if you were to do a video on the 900. Well, I know I am asking a lot, and hopefully the 900 is in your plans. If so, it is a must see for me. Thank you, I am sucribed Harry

When you get a deep coin and you're only getting beep once in awhile for very your sleep speed from slow to high until you get a regular signal or the best one walk around in a circle to find if it's on an angle or not very sweet will show you what sweetspeed is necessary for the site that you're on to find deep coins

Good video. I am a NEW CTX3030 user. Never had the FE numbers explained this well. I was thinking they had to be along the 12 line.

Ive been using the Etrac for a few seasons with success. Today i followed the instrucrions at a area that has given up lots of old coins. Dissapointed to find a nail a the bottom of a hole a few times . Using the Andy S pattern following the video. Can you please help me address this issue? Thanks

I hope your luck has improved! I don't find too many either. I just found my 8th merc...in 14 years of detecting! I only hunt parks, but in my area (southeast PA), many of the parks are quite new. The oldest parks have been hit hard by everyone with a detector in the past 40 years. So it comes down to dumb luck, or start knocking on doors. I'm pretty sure the crazy successful silver hunters are knocking on doors. Me? I'm happy with clad. More silver would be great, and maybe I'll start knocking on doors next year. But I have very limited time for the hobby at this point of my life...I'd rather grab some quick clad at nearby little league fields or around basketball courts, than spend hours driving looking for just the right place to search for silver. I'll buy silver coins with my clad...🤣 Maybe next year though. Good luck!

@@mikel646 I actually found my first silver a few weeks ago! An 1853 half dime. Didn’t even know they existed. I just got permission at a historical location here in Ohio dating back to 1830’s. It’s about 60 acres so will keep me busy a long time! Happy hunting!

@@westrokker outstanding!! Lots of people have been in this hobby for decades and never came up with a half dime! I got an equinox 600 two years ago, hoping it would help me find some extra silver...I'm actually a bit disappointed in how unstable it is with tones and IDs. The etrac was much better. But the nox kicks butt in the separation department...and it's a fraction of the weight of the etrac. I'm giving serious consideration to getting a Deus 2. Heard lots of good things about it. I'd have to sell some stuff first tho...the deus 2 is pricey. Then there's the manticore coming out...so I have to at least wait for the reviews to come out for that. In the end, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to spend a thousand dollars on a new detector to help me find a hundred dollars in silver. So I'm proceeding with caution. What detector are you using?

You say the FE numbers are the key? It seems to me the Co numbers are more consistent and the Fe is jumping all over the place?

When I bought my Etrac 4 months ago this made no sense to me but now it makes so much sense! Too much discrimination you won’t find very deep targets or good targets in the iron. Goes to show they are in fact tone machines. Brilliant video thank you.
