That 3rd layer is absolutely there, btw. And a 4th ;) 3rd layer is once you realise that pitching cards to setup late game is super important, and the fact that you can change the order of your cards when they go to the bottom of your deck. 4th is when you start planning several turns ahead, and cycling only the cards you don't need immediately whilst keeping those you do. Guardian is very much in that realm.

Guys, if anyone is interested in this game and in Los Angeles, Turn Zero Games has some demo decks you can pick up and try the game! Make sure you call and pester them about the game so they will finally start stocking it for us, and hold tournaments, etc. The CLOSEST game store in the Los Angeles area is SANTA CRUZ, over 200 miles away. Let's get FaB into LA!

This game looks really good, I'm always up for more TCG's also I would love to see more Middle Earth The wizard's I have alot of those cards and never really got the chance to play with anyone back when it was brand new in 1995, most of my friends just played magic the gathering and pretty much you'll play the game your friends are playing. If Flesh and Blood comes to Canada I'll probably pick some of it up and learn to play it with some of my friends and family.

Hey, Guys, great video! Thank you! I want to get into this game, but my barrier to entry involves the cost of buying singles on the open market. I found that two cards from Flesh and Blood cost over one-hundred dollars each, both pieces of super-rare armor. Pay-to-play models like this create a few problems in my head. First, we should not have to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to collect six cards. Second, players should approach a match as evenly equipped as possible. Third, pay-to-play models create a sense of exclusion for me because I cannot experience the full game without expensive cards. The living-card-game model really helped alleviate my barriers to entry because everyone has equal access to the same cards, and when deckbuilding, I thought about which cards to use rather than which cards I owned. I hope that a competitive, living-card game shows up soon.
@teamcovenant4 жыл бұрын
Collectibles have such a fine line to walk. Cards having value keeps players invested longer and opens up Draft as a viable format regardless of your collection being "complete" (you might pull that legendary equipment you've wanted for months!) But on the other hand, there are these issues that you mention. Maybe there's some perfect middle ground. It probably revolves around the collectibility being in the presentation (foil, alt art, etc) rather than the content.

@MarsIsFlatProductions4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the initial learning curve is higher than most other tcgs, but its incredible once it clicks. An action point is just a representation of a player turn. Its poor writing. So if a card says “Go Again” you can get another action point to play a card. Doing something is an action. Reactions are a card type. You can use those cards to buff a card in the attack chain. If you play Magic, the attack chain is the stack, and reactions are buffs to spells on the stack. So it goes Attack>Defend>Attack React>Defense React.
@teamcovenant4 жыл бұрын
It clicked pretty quickly for us! Lots of conversation about it this morning.

Great vid as always guys! Just want to make sure I’m following the rules correctly though...at 20:09 Zach uses Wounded Bull to pay for the Anothos once per turn ability. He says that Wounded Bull generates 3 resources, but from the template image shown, doesn’t Wounded Bull *cost* 3 resources (upper right number) and only *generate* 1 resource (upper left number)?
@teamcovenant4 жыл бұрын
Guessing that was a production error. Because every card has different versions, if we forget to say the color on camera we pull up the red one by default. It was likely the blue Wounded Bull that was pitched for resources. That said, you have it right! Cost is top right, resources top left.

To me it looks like this game has a couple of problems but i can be wrong. You basically get a new hand any turn, so your task is to blow all your cards every turn right? Because your cards hurt the enemy and that wins you the game. The components on the board barely change through out the game. I see no permanents brought into play. That means to me that your first turn might be more powerful than your tenth and the decisions you make are mainly the same every round. Are there any colours or loyalities in the cards that restrict your deckbuilding options? Otherwise decks will be 80% the same in tournament play i guess. I will try the game if given the possibility though. Artwork looks cool.
@kaibe52414 жыл бұрын
Player here having attended numerous LGS events and now the $10k calling event in Auckland, been playing since mid-november. 1. Yes, you're quite wrong. Timing is key in this game. Many of the heroes have ways of playing where you setup for big turns. Can't do that if you're blowing your wad with every card draw ;) 2. Lots of semi-permanents can enter - tokens, potions.etc. 3. Decisions every round are absolutely not the same. 4. You have hero-specific cards, class-specific cards, then generics. Most cards in a deck are class-specific. So yeah, you're wrong on most assumptions. I'd recommend picking up a hero starter deck and having some fun.
@MarsIsFlatProductions4 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind, these are intro decks to a game with a high learning curve from the get go. There are permanents in the game, and theres something called an Arsenal, where you can store a card there and play it at any point in the game. So your objective isnt to blow all your cards, but to plan your moved and strike hard when the time is right. You probably arent going to use your equipment on your first turn, but losing your equipment doesn’t necessarily put you in a bad position either. I highly recommend picking up a couple intro decks and giving it a test drive. The game is incredible. A nice breath of fresh air in the tcg space

They don't have to mention it in the title. Just mentioning it when the video starts is fine. After all, an introduction to a new game has value regardless of the opinions of the people who review it. Learn how the game plays and if you find it interesting, search for even more info. I'd like to think that people have opinions of their own and we are not all sheep who are influenced so easily.
