I have only done one 2 sided project. It was a pie dish with a pumpkin top for the lid. I used dowel pins to line it up. That does mean putting a hold in the spoil board. But that is what it is for I guess.

Great video….mistakes are learning moments. I like it when &T makers are honest and show that not every projects is perfect every time. Happy Thanksgiving.

Great video. Nice see mistakes too. People think this is easy and it is not. Great Banjo music too. Bonus for me. Have a great day.

I am working on the strategy, I will have a working setup soon…. Lol

The newest version has a "keep out" area. Also maybe use double sided tape vs. clamping for this or use larger work area then cut material after CNC work. Yup, I'm a Glasser and CNCer 😊

yea, so many mistakes... lol

Good Video! We all learn the hard way sometimes but it's fun that way :)

I’ll have to get this right next time….lol

Two words… Alignment pins. Add some threaded inserts in your bed that will be known points. Start by drilling two alignment holes in your workpiece spaced to match your threaded inserts then fit it over those pins before starting the first side. When you flip it everything is relative to those pin holes which means that it doesn’t matter if your workpiece is square. I would even write down the absolute position of those inserts then use those coordinates to set your zero point when using the pins.

Yea, that seems to be a common go to

Mistakes are all part of learning. I use dowel pins when doing 2 sided projects on the cnc.

Yes, I thought the corner hold would work. It may have if the file had been perfectly centered. The next project is probably gonna get some pins... lol

This was very interesting to learn the differences between lasering and cnc projects. I assumed that you would do it like we would on a laser. Do one side, cut it out, flip it over, reinsert in the hole and rerun all the but the outside cutting lines. I’m assuming the reason you can’t do that on the cnc is due to the inability to hold that ornament back in the hole sufficiently to run the second side?

There are some obstacles, but I am working on a shortcut.

@@TheClackShack Will be looking forward to what you come up with!

Its not gonna work it doesn't matter if ur material is perfect.. Brother u need to do a tool path with alignment pins on ur project and spoil board this way when u flip u have alignment dowels to line up perfect..

That seems to be the easiest approach.. Getting my plan together for the next attempt.
