Great video, thank you! I slightly differ about the "copy" part, however I think this is because you think about tutorials when I think about Masters studies, which is very important to expand our "line vocabulary" by the understanding of someone else's process

Yes, there is a place for this, but it is not at the beginner stage, which is target group for the video.

that's interesting. Why wouldn't you advise it to beginners? I'm a beginner, it is part of the exercises I try to do regularly. I usually do only a small part of the drawing of course

I have found that the number one mistake in drawing a beginner is not convincing them to remove their clothing so that one can properly learn the proportions of human anatomy. Beginners are always too shy or modest.

Thank goodness I draw architecture and trees 😆. But yes, careful observation and understanding of form is vital, yet so frequently overlooked.
