I wish there was a “love” reaction instead of just a “like.” When Pete is an old man he will remember these moments, and having these videos will be priceless to him. You are an amazing dad.

Wow, outstanding Juan. This brings back a bittersweet memory. I had my first flying "lesson" when I was a 5. My Uncle Larry, Captain USA, was a pilot flying Otters out of Hunter AAF. We visited before his deployment to SE Asia in 1963. He took me flying in his Cessna 150, I "flew" along the Georgia coast and followed the Savannah River. This experience set in motion events that would lead to me flying USMC fighters and 30+ years of flying Boeings across both ponds. Sadly my uncle was shot down and never returned from Vietnam. His legacy lives on through what he did. Thanks Juan, keep teaching Pete and savor every moment. Rest easy Uncle Larry.

Great flight, with many wonderful memorable moments for both of you! The “upside-down wedding cake” is a great analogy which helped me when first flying in and out of Fairoaks, (very) near Heathrow. And had to smile at: “American .... now we know who he works for!” Concurring with the seat cushion requirement. I think that even you will be amazed at how much Pete learns from each flight.

I just found this video which has obviously been up a while. So great watching you teach Pete to fly. My dad learned to fly in a Luscombe. I remember him teaching me the same way when I was about that age. I became his auto pilot following the VOR needle. I got in precious little time flying with my son when he was little as finances just didn’t allow in those days. Now I’m 65 and have a five-year-old grandson and a seven year old granddaughter. I am finishing up a Zenith Zodiac 601 HDS and plan to move it up to Minnesota where the kids live from here in Florida within the next few years. I can’t wait to teach the grandkids to fly. When the day comes I’ll send you a picture!

Juan, that was the best video I have seen from your channel thus far! Special father-son time doing something you love to do, fly! It reminded me of when I was a young lad like Pete flying with my father in a Chipmunk trainer the RCAF used in the 1960s. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to be a pilot like Dad because of my eyesight and hearing. But my youngest son thinks he might want to! He is 12 and is in his first year of Air Cadets. This fall he had his first glider flight! I think he may be hooked like I was, well, still am I LOL. Thanks again for this heartwarming trip down memory lane! Best Wishes for the New Year! California and up and down the coast. Used to drive up to Stateline and Reno with friends and all over your part of the world when free. After training went right to Sac flying B - 52s for the next 4 years. Watching your posts is just like being back in the AF. Was stationed at Westover for those four years with the exception of two tours to South East Asia. Keep it up, very much enjoyed

I would like to add my 2 cents to how great it was that you spent that time with your son. My dad took me to a lot of places and did a lot of things that I remember and vaguely remember but the best part was I was with him and mom. I took my sons to as many places as I could. The oldest wound up being the engineer on the same tourist train I was engineer on and the manager thought he was me one day. Your younguns will remember these things as and after they grow up. Keep it up. Giving your time is so much better than things.

Reminded me of doing almost the same flight with my grandfather in the early '70s. We were in his classic ragwing Cessna 140. He wasn't doing any communication with local controllers and when we came back up the city front and into Oakland, there was a small formation of jets coming up out of the Navel Air Station that past by close enough for me to wave at one of the pilots. That was was quite the ride.. Thanks for reminding me, Pete is a lucky guy...

Chop it and drop it! HAHAHAHA! Man, this was alot of fun! The interaction between you and your son is priceless - hope you put this footage into a lock box and keep it safe forever. :) Years from now this will be a treasure for your family. Seriously brought a tear to my eye. Watching Pete fly instantly brought me back to 1980, when my dad handed the controls over on his '79 John Deere 440 Trailfire snowmobile to me. What a thrill! A time I'll never forget! I heard you pronounce "sharks" the correct way there in the beginning (shaaaaks!). LOL! That's how we say it out here in MA. :D I heard you mention Mt. Diablo! I was there in 2001 on my '94 CBR600F2! I had spent 2 years in Phoenix attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute, and after I graduated, I moved in with my buddy in Livermore. He took me all over NoCal on the bikes and showed me the sights. Highway 1 was AMAZING! Had been seeing it in motorcycle magazines since I was a kid, and there I was, living the dream, lol. Seeing the Golden Gate from your perspective in the air was amazing!! Brought back all the memories of walking the bridge, the tunnel at Sausalito, and seeing Alcatraz from the beach there. The wife and I revisited Frisco back in '13 - I DROVE all the way from MA in my Silverado! Hauled my '84 Honda XL350R out to have some fun. I didn't want to deal with the TSA, nor pay for car rentals. Yeah, I know ... but they wouldn't put my XL on the plane ... :D :D

An enchanting and also moving piece of video. Firstly Juan, your child will NEVER be any problem in life; he is being brought up perfectly. In 1946 when I was three and a half, my father flew me and my mother in the UK in a De Havilland Dominie (RAF Dragon Rapide) and 73 years later I can still remember it. The Dragon Rapide has only one pilot seat in the nose and my mother and I sat in two of the seats behind my father. Come forward to 2006 and my partner and I were in Sausalito and we took a Cessna floatplane ride from there over the Golden Gate bridge and the city and back. A la recherche du temps perdu.
