Nice Jack! I’m inspired to try this one again. I’ve somehow managed to get a semi-consistent half cab roll but have never in my life landed a heel side back roll lol. Funny which inverts come naturally to people. Btw you have a clean toe 180 toward the end of the video. If you’re looking for another invert to learn you should try a scarecrow (toe-side front flip with a 180). Should come pretty quick once you’re comfortable riding away switch. Cheers!

Thanks! A scarecrow is definitely in line for tricks I want to learn, and possibly the half cab. Don’t give up on the backroll, it took me a long time to understand it and get comfortable

Good job man! Try o look at the boat while jumping and star the rotation from your hips, not from your head. I drill that helped me a lot was to do som wake to wake heelside straight jumps and, as soon as I popped, I forced myself not to look on the traveling direction, but to look at the boat...you’ll see better results for sure!!

Congrats man! I’d recommend consciously sweeping your front leg out and behind you to get the rotation consistent. Check out some of my channel’s videos for a very up-close and slow-motion perspective of the backroll. There are some toeside rolls in there too

I don't know much about wakeboarding, but this looks a little different than a heelside backroll right? It looks like you're doing more of a backflip, whereas the heelside backroll is more of a sideflip off the toes? Awesome regardless, been watching tutorials to figure out what flip is best to learn first...kind of confusing to tell what exactly is going on watching flips in general.😅

Actually, I take it back. I think someone else in the video was doing a different flip, but you're definitely doing a heelside backroll! Just trying to figure out what's what with these flips, confusing.

Yeah the flip in this video is the heelside backroll, and the straight backflip is called a tantrum
