Very helpful video. I've been struggling to find any concrete resources on how to get my hunting license in Canada. I have signed up for my local in-person class, but I may opt-out and do it online because it will be quicker. There's so much of this or just didn't know. I already have my PAL so that's not a problem. However, you said, "Carry a handgun". And I would just like to correct in saying that we cannot carry handguns very readily. The only way we can carry a handgun in the wilderness is with an ATC. And that is only if you are in a region with lots of dangerous game. It's very restrictive. Other than that, legally it's almost impossible. And one more thing, when you have your firearms license you are allowed to let someone who does not have a license shoot when they are within arms reach. Is there something like this that carries over into hunting?

Hi Chris, for documents I already have my firearmn lisence, my outdoor card and there was another document from the rcmp that we should always carry with us, I have that one in my walet but I forgot if that piece of paper is mandatory as well.

I like this idea, unfortunate I do not have any direct experience around it. I only like to teach from personal experience, not just things I read in a book. I'll ask my partner in running The Hunter's Journey course & Community. I believe he has worked with some minors as apprentices. If he has, I suspect we could put something together for you.

Hi there, I passed hunter education training in PEI and obtained the PEI wildlife card. I have NR firearm licence as well. Do I need to retake the course again in Ontario and get the Ontario version hunting license in order to hunt in Ontario? Thanks!

So I just got a question so I'm not looking to use guns for hunting I'm looking just to use bows and crossbows and compound bows how would I get my hunting license just for that because I know any of my Ontario outdoorsman card but I don't know what everything else I need because as I said I'm not going to be using a gun I'm just using a bow so could someone at least give me a little concept

You can send it in even if it's been a while! You can always call the chief fire arms office to make sure it's not too late.

Can a non hunter with no license accompany a licensed hunter in Canada? It's probably not a good idea, it could be a liability in the hunt and there are other hunters out there, potentially dangerous with a non hunter along.

I dont actually know the specifics but I know hikers and such have the same access to crown lands as hunters do. So I would assume that as long as they weren't involved in shooting, dressing, or transporting the animal, the answer would be yes.

You can shoot either a buck or a doe using a doe tag.
