Thank you for bringing out the aspect that being too quiet while working with a horse is not a good thing. Some take the "horse whisperer" thing a bit too literal.

So I am 14 and am starting to train as kind of a business. I train very very similar to you with 'domestics.' The filly I am training right now isn't skittish at all because we raised her out of a gentle kill pen mare, but my personal mare was crazier than that stang you got there and soon will be training for a lady who's horse is scared of everything on the ground. I bought my mare from my parents when I was twelve and a couple weeks ago I gave a pony ride to one of my friends who had never before even sat on a horse. I can't wait till I am 18 so that I can get a stang. My parents think that they are basically wolves even halter broke stangs, though they have met very gentle stangs that had been barely touched. It is really fun watching you because you mix all the trainers to make it work for you like I often do. I do tend to lean towards Parelli horsemanship but it all is the same concept.

They absolutely can, depends on the personality. I worked with 2, one was terrified of everything, extremely reactive. The other was practically a puppy about a week in. He was more brave, like Julius. Some take a lot of time, some not so much.

I know its a stupid question..( someone else asked me..idk so.) Can you put liquid band aid on the nose to protect it some? Or kind of where its at use vet wrap? To protect it? She also ask is he always going to be " snorty" that if thats him.( like people lol i roll my eyes alot or or a deep sigh..done it all my life..) Tried to expain the snort is him processing stuff and stress relief anda lil nervous but trying hard.( dont know if i gave her correct anwser.sorry.)that like her asking alot of questions. When she is learning new stuff..he is too .hes a lil uncomfortable but kinda like you.when you breathe. That youre used to being in retail now youre in customer service.it kinda freaks you out but youre ok.the more positive you experiene is..its like you..out of your comfort zone but..you are starting to relax a bit..you will get more comfident when you are getting positive feedback and do the same task..you get ready to be ok learning new things because youve had positive experience..( i dont know if i explained that to her correct..im not a trainer or like you have a shit ton of experience lol ive never had the experiene or honer of having a wild horse
@jesseelisabeatty32594 жыл бұрын
Ps shes learning about mustangs..she wants one but she says..im not ready.i have alot to learn..( she takes lessons rides well, mucks stalls..etc.has land , shelter etc..feeeding..vet farrier down but.she has her heart set on a mustang.she says shes not getting one untill she knows her ass from her elbow ( lmfao) im proud she wants to wait.she says im going to have it long term i have to find my perfect match.it may not be beautiful outside. But id rather have brains than beauty. Something worth the effort that its a two sided partnership..love at first sight on both behalfs.love that. ( like her shelter dog.) But shes going to go to auctions watch..and learn. Talk to experienced people .( told her ( like i did spend money take a vet and farrier get their opion..its worth the money..and saves you in the long run ..dont want lame or sick but also if it can be fixed get the green light.) Take someone experienced.they can watch that horse move and tell what its ability will be..trail, barrels, pleasure, possible cow horse..and its temperment and nature..( julius..hes curious kind, sweet..a people lover..a good beginner horse..because hes so curious ..he moves smooth..he seems like hed be a good trustable laid back trail riding horse that comfortable to ride. Brutus is flashy moves smooth but too much for a " beginner" with no experience with a mustang. Hed be too much horse..im not an expert but i ve had horses 20 years ago. Learned my lessons the hard way before i got smart took a vet and my farrier to check the horse out..i hope im giving her good advice. I told her dont feel " sorry" for something..it will cost you alot..and you will be sorry. A vet or farrier cant be 100 percent on but..they CAN tell you if its lame, or the issues they see at first sight..that mabe can be fixed or avoid..ie hoof absess vs navicular or founder, too skinny when the rest arent..scours, respiratory. Vision problems..etc

great job!!..im not a fan of the blm people they cause so many of these beautiful horses 2 get killed in the roundups or hurt real bad..id rather they all remain free but if some of them can get lucky & be adopted out to good homes than thats great..these make some good horses if they can be trainable..if not its good that rescues can save them from the kill pens & set them free.
