There's still no shortage of jank, poor mechanics and questionable responsiveness. It's a decent game, but most of my deaths are from jank or poor design and that's just pretty frustrating. Failed yoyo walljumps because they're inconsistent, inability to do a 2nd jump after a wall jump a lot of the time because it's also f***ing inconsistent, placing enemies in the middle of the air when you jump and making it impossible to hold the yoyo in mid-air to hang after you hit an enemy and if you press the yoyo button again you'll shoot forward instead, etc. The game's decent like I said, but... honestly, it reminds me of Billy Hatcher, except that game has much better design and is more consistent.

Here's a tip for getting some height: Probably unintentional, but if you HOLD attack on the ground, and jump immediately, they YoYo will actually jump with you and stay in the air. Now you can perform a yoyo bounce by simply jumping into it. And it even pulls you into itswlf a bit as if you were swinging. But the best part is that you can STILL swing after this. So this is like, double the initial jump height, before you even do any tricks

Ppl blow the bugs out of proportion. I only ever had collision issues on my first play through. Once you get good at the game, you kinda zip through levels in way where you’re not making much contact with the games collision anyways. I have 25 hours in the game and i haven’t had a bug happen since maybe hour 5. It’s not this crazy omnipresent issue that some ppl might have you think.

A patch has now been released fixing most of the most major bugs. I don't think it was anywhere close to as bad as some make it out to be before anyway but it's definitely pretty stable now I'd say.

@@colbyboucher6391 100% not true. All the bugs can be found in every version. This game doesn't have framerate issues or something, the Switch version runs at 30FPS but it's a consistent one, and the upcoming patch is supposed to fix that too btw, it's going 60. But besides that all the glitches people were reporting were absolutely problems with the game's code, not the Switch port specifically at all. They literally just released a patch that fixed a lot of major bugs and it came out on Steam first and will be on all other consoles after certification so clearly these issues were on those systems.

I really like the game with it's great movement, fun levels, and surprising amount of content. My only real problem with the game is that my commuter is trash and certain levels will tank the frame rate. The final boss played like a slide show.

finally some helpful information. i started playing recently and its been driving me insane cuz it feels like the movement system relies more on intuition than an actual tutorial. it gives the rundown on how to do basic actions but nothing on how to meet ridiculous standards or how certain tricks interact. it mostly leaves it up to the player and was not clicking with me in the slightest. definitely gonna try to carry some of this into future attempts cuz this actually explains where i was messing up a lot with the high momentum swing. i would often just throw myself in a perfect 180 and end up before where i started the ground launch.

After getting a high score on a level you unlock some cool concept art related to that stage, the shop only has a couple consumable objects that help you like one that prevents 1 time falling and stuff like that

I don’t undertand how to maintan my combo in levels where you have to stop and do the rotate move, in general I don’t like the combo system

What I do is buffer it with the right stick before landing but then again the game doesn't really require you to keep a combo going all the way, it's NOT like Pizza Tower where you get a special rank for a full combo, so personally I wouldn't really go for that

I really like the game but the game is extremely sluggish and has almost no momentum like it seemed like it would have. I've watched speed runs and they play at a fast pace but it's still slow and looks like what the normal game should be. I'm almost done with the game and I still just get frustrated with how slow penny is and nothing flows like my brain feels it should.
