Just wanna say that we born Muslims also struggle with prayer, tajweed, hijab, etc - so don’t feel pressured if you are a revert. Our relationship with God is personal (and ongoing) and He is Most Merciful and Bountiful, so it’s not a competition with others, but with ourselves. All we have are our intentions and our efforts. The results are up to Allah swt. Here’s to challenging ourselves to be our personal best so we can all be with each other in heaven, iA. 🤲 Let’s cheer each other on and keep it up, everyone! May we all be blessed with a successful Ramadan. Ameen. ✨

@@TheWanderingQuinnFirstly congratulations on making perhaps the best decision in life. There is only one unforgivable sin, and that is associating partners with Allah, And Alhamd u llilah you are now past that. Just remember that all your deeds are judged based on your niyyah ( intention based in your heart). Rest assured that if your intention is pure, the creator is happy with you and you should have no fear. There are basically two rights (Haqooq). 1. Haqooq Allah ( rights of allah). Like shahadah, prayer, fasting, hajj etc. Allah says that i may or may not forgive these on the day of judgement. 2. Haqooq ul ibad ( rights of all living creatures). Allah says I will not forgive these on the day of judgement, only the affected may forgive, and on that day no one will forgive. The first cause to go to hell fire will be shirk and second will be haqooq al ibad.

The spree of converted muslim in maintaining Islam and that of BORN muslim in violating ISLAM challenges each other.Rituals and rule for living in a society are equa lly,important in Islam.Qura nic,teachings are on both the issues.we born musli lim,at best can recite Quran but don't understand what is given there to follow and mostly relied on imitating dogma tically,.As A result our practices engulfed in that of dummies.Memorizing Quran by non Arab is proven not so difficult but learning a language is not an easy task.So a good translation of Quran will serve the purpose.we have understand Quran,then to follow it. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO underst and,the meaning of Qurani ic, verses,at least the theme recited in prayer.Unfortunately we non Arab traditionally only exercise our memorizing capacity only.

I'm finding it hard to pray in Arabic. I'm a new Australian Muslim. And like you Ellie none of my family are Muslim. My education was in Catholic girls schools. I was a new Muslim just before covid but had been studying like you for about 8 months beforehand. I live in a small country town but we have quite a few Muslims here.Only 1 who is,like myself born here. We get together for BBQs and celebrations which I love,but it's distressing for me that I can't speak Arabic like all the women and so I feel a bit left out I suppose. They are very lucky to of been brought up Muslim.and speaking Arabic.Im interested in following your journey and wish you peace and happiness. Salam my sister.

Alhamdulillah on your new journey. But remember Allah is your guide and he will make the journey easy for you. Allah will never burden you with more than you can handle. If it was meant for you to speak Arabic then you will learn it, for it is what Allah has ordained. But that may happen next month, a year from now, maybe another 3years, who knows but Allah. But don't be disheartened for not speaking it because 90% of the worlds Muslims don't. And even those that do their Arabic is different from nation to nation, and from the Qur'an because the Quranic Arabic is the ultimate perfect Arabic which even the Arabs in Arabia do not speak normally. I tried my best to atleast pray Magrib.. Some days I didn't but I tried. I recently like a week ago started trying my hardest to pray 5times a day... I started with fajr and then I did Dhur and Asr and magrib... Sometimes I would fall asleep before Ishai but I was proud of myself for doing more than I have usually done and to be honest.... Nice job .. I was listening to you with my heart .. trying to undestand how much work you had put in in learning Islam . With Allah blessings I have been born A Muslim .. but wasn't a devoted Muslim untill I was in my early twenties.. I'm trying to learn more about how new Muslims approach Islam and what's the Ups and Downs ..etc . I wish you all of success and happiness and just don't overwhelm yourself .. it's a journey and I hope your videos help teach others about Islam and Muslims! Your brother Osama from Saudi Arabia / RIYADH.

Ellie, I have stumbled across your videos and want to congratulate you firstly on your shahada and your determination to learn about your faith with limited Muslims friends (not always a bad thing). I am a born Muslim and was taught in the mosque setting for several years. You made a point of learning what you are saying in your prayers, I will admit whilst I was taught the surahs and the mechanics of the prayers the interpretation was never really provided. In my 40’s I am now teaching my daughter and making notes for her to understand what she is saying which will give more meaning to her prayer. I think this is so important. I am also teaching her the Quran, and although we are Asian, her first language is English and she struggles too with pronunciation, I always encourage her and allhumduliliah she is learning slowly but most importantly correctly. I think your videos will be great for reverts like yourself and us who want to see our faith without the haze of culture. I enjoy listening to Islamic lectures in my spare time and can highly recommend Yasir Qadhi, Omar Suleiman and Green Lane Mosque. I wish you all the best and may god keep you steadfast in your faith Inshallah. Ps my Bil is a revert and I will sharing these videos with him too inshallah.

Videos are essential not only for learning the prayers but for learning the proper pronunciation of the Arabic words. I found them to be very helpful because I had nobody to teach me. I was completely on my own.

Asalaamu alaykum sister, i am not a native Arab speaker. When I was young, my aunt bought a book with English pronunciation of Surah al Fatihah and the other Arabic sayings performed during salah, etc. That helped greatly many years ago. Secondly, understanding the meaning behind everything you say, makes your prayer so much more meaningful. Allah reward you for your genuineness and sincere intentions. Ameen

I didn't realize how hard it will be for you given that you were not taught these things as we were as kids. For non-muslims everything is new and they have to put in a lot of effort. But to make you feel a bit better, also muslims who don't do prayers as kids and start later in life, they still have to struggle a bit. Learning the Surah's by heart, and being careful not to forget the steps! So many times, I find myself also forgetting the steps and have to start all over again if I make a mistake! Basically once you have realized that you have made a mistake in you salat then you have to do it again properly. And using paper to write the surah and read them from the paper is perfectly fine!
@safiya89304 жыл бұрын
No, if you make a mistake in praying, then you have to carry on the prayer and then do two prostrations at the end. That’s what the prophet Muhammad did, peace be upon him.

Dearest, something that I really love is how thoughtful and progressive and compassionate you are during the process whilst also learning SO MUCH Ma sha Allah !! There is a hadith where the Prophet Sallalaho Alayhi wa Sallim encourages to be progressive and not try to do everything as once as we will get tired of praying and eventually get overwhelmed so congrats for doing your best Also, I am SO PROUD OF YOU and of HOW FAR YOU HAVE COME !!! ♥️♥️♥️ may Allah continue blessing you and guiding you

I was born into a Pakistani Muslim family, however I never considered myself Muslim until I taught myself to prayer at the age of 30. I never understood Islam properly . I do think that cultures mix religion and culture into one, which makes it confusing to understand. i looked into it, did my research , taught myself to pray and reverted to Islam at 30 years old. That's the best thing i ever did. I can totally relate to you when learning to pray. For me learning to pray was the most difficult part.

This is what I’m going through currently. I’m Pakistani Muslim and because culture was mixed with religion it turned me away from Islam. I’m reverting now and I know some of the salah prayer in Arabic, but I don’t know what words translate to their English equivalents. I’m slowly learning the Arabic with comprehension rather than just memorization.

Hi Ellie!! I just came across this video because I was looking for some inspiration to help motivate me to pray more. I needed a "booster" as I have prayed intermittently throughout my life as a muslim but I want to become closer to Allah and do prayer more regularly. Anyways, just wanted to say I am super-impressed by all the initiative you took to learn how to pray. I'm at the stage where I am learning the meanings of what I am saying during prayer, and also doing away with some of the prayer content that was taught incorrectly....may Allah pardon those who did not have the correct knowledge, ameen. May Allah bless you with more knowledge each day, and thank you for putting a "face" to the muslim, because so many people are intimidated by all the requirements of Islam and need to know that it is a lifelong lesson and that they don't have to jump in without getting their feet wet first. MashaAllah. May Allah bless you throughout your life and the akhirah, Ameen
