@@foildrive Thanks for the reply I’m having a blast on my FD+ so far, I’ll be sure to let you know if I have any issues! I know that Dom has a few videos on his channel, but it would be a great “official” perspective to give optimal gear recommendations that complement FD depending on the discipline, being winging, sup, downwind, prone, etc. I realize going into specific gear can be too much content given the endless possibilities, I’m thinking more in terms of generalities such as board shape/size, wing shape/size, fuse shape/size, mast position, track position, water conditions, etc. Not necessarily specific brands, although if you do have a favorite brand that works best with FD it would be great to know as well. I’d also love to get more official DIY hacks for solving some of the problems I’ve had or feared about like cable guides unsticking or box latches accidentally coming undone, or what to do in case of worst case scenario if your box opens and battery becomes submerged. I’m sure I can think of more as I get more use and find more possible issues, but that’s just off the top of my head. Thanks again!

@@foildrive I’ve really deep dived into all the fd video/blog/help center content in the past 3-4 months and I think I’ve finished most of it. I really should slow down 😂 @dominichoskyns9091 appreciate it, love your videos! you’re a big inspiration for helping me make the jump. I’d also love to see more content specific for light wind flat swell as south FL does not get great conditions here in the summer. The conditions here were the main reason I made the jump, and I’m looking to be as efficient as possible to maximize battery life, increase time on foil, and increase speed.

Great vid. I’m new to FDA having 12 sessions in. I struggled to get up onto foil terribly despite being an avid foiler. I switched to downwind board and can rise up so easily. Now pumping along with variable FDA and improving each time. Soon will return to smaller boards. These videos are so helpful

If the board has footstrap inserts then the easiest way is to use the mounting plate. If not then either the dual lock velcro or the low profile anchor points can be used but both of these need an area of deck that does not have a foam pad on

Dominic, what is your recommendation on battery location? I ride a 40L 4’9” board and am considering either nose or where you place your battery. Problem is my board is 18.5 “ wide. Thoughts? Btw, great vids you’re putting out. Cheers

What size mast were you using? looks tall ? Is 73cm to small? What size do you suggest for pump practice? Thanks

Hi excellent video Dominic, what size board and how far down the mast is the foil drive? It looks about 25cm? Is this still feasible on a cedrus mast fixed at 18cm below the board. Cheers

This is a 4'7" fanatic 45L Motor is positioned about 20cm. Its totally possible with cedrus at 18cm, just means you need to hold the board just above the water to efoil!
