Its okay! To be honest I still don't understand fully, but luckly we have nice creators that put songs in letter and number format. If you look at my other videos I should you where each tab falls on your Kalimba. :)

I got that picture of the kalimba off of april yangs kalimba videos. Also if you look up on google 17 kalimba tab should bring up a picture like the one i used in the video as well. :) feel free to ask if you need more help.

im so confused about how to read the number notation and letters. in many videos they show one letter on the screen but they play many tines without explaining. i don't understand how you know which number/letter to play when there are multiple of the same number/letter on the kalimba. ive watched so many videos and i just cant figure it out.

@Sristi K Hello! On the Kalimba you have your letters or your numbers. And under then number and letters there are dots. For example there are 3 C's on a 17 tine Kalimba The plain C in your main C, then there is C. This means it's one octive higher then C.. this is two octives higher. When people write tabs they will put the dots to help you know what letter they mean. In my videos I also color code so you know what side of the Kalimba that number or letter falls on. I have a video called "getting to know your Kalimba tines" this shows more about the letters and numbers. Hope I helped!

@@mahimalakayil6635 That's what the symbols are for that I show in the video. each symbol shows how many spaces are between each note before you play. The dots on the diagram are the notes.

Why my Kalimantan is marked differently, c4 is c1, d4 is d2... ever number is different

So your kalimba should be tuned in C. So when people talk about tuning they will say the number of what it should be tuned in like C4 D4 is an example of that. On your tines should ve written or have tab sticks that have letters and numbers on them. This helps you know what tab is what. For example there are three Cs on the Kalimba. The first is C1 your middle tine, this is the lowest C. Your second C1. This is the second highest and C1.. this is the highest C hope this helps, you could also possible have a Kalba tuned in another tune and thats why your letters are differen't but I only work with tuned C kalimbas

Hello, that is a sharp. The kalimba is tuned in C so there are no sharp tuning. There are other tunes you can put your kalimba in that have sharps, but your C tuning does not. I have another video that is over tuning apps and tuning your kalimba. I tell what each tine should be tuned at. Hopefully this is helpful!

If you have kalimba stickers they will have the dots on them for you, also some Kalimbas have them engraved on the tines. Look at the pictures in this video to help you know what tines to put your stickers on :)
