Hi there! Just wondering how your experience went! I just discovered this channel and have just bought a used Pint (not the X) a few days ago. 40 years old and about 240-245 lbs. First day took me a while to find the balance and stop the jitters. Looking way ahead and not down definitely helped. After about two dozen embarrassing attempts to mount it (and a sprained left ankle), I finally got the hang of it and rose 2.6 miles! Good luck!

I just wanted to say thanks so much for this video! As someone who has never experienced ANY board sport and an amateur rollerblader I was nervous ordering and learning a Onewheel. Because of your funny, safe, and realistic approach I was able to get up and ride in about 15 minutes with only one true minor fall. Appreciate you taking one for the team and sharing your learnings so I didn't have to. So glad I ordered one. Only on day 2, and we already have 12 miles on the board. It's a total blast, and already made a new friend/riding partner out of a complete stranger who just saw me riding. P.S. you're right about the stupid plug....lost it on my first day, got replacements at the store that don't fit, and have decided to just replace packing tape between charges.

The process of learning to ride a OneWheel is not at all easy like Future Motion dictates, I had a VERY hard time on it my first week of ownership. This was a great video to watch, seeing your learning process was super on point. But, once I figured out riding stance and letting the OneWheel control itself and read my body movements, I started really enjoying the riding experience. Everyone learns differently, and once you get the hang of it, the OneWheel is an absolutely awesome toy, I love my pint!

My first attempt was frustrating, the leg wobble was a thing, and I was doubting my purchase. Also note that I'm a retired old man at 64. Today I took what you said about that and worked through it along with some of your other tips. I eventually got about a mile and a half ride in before my legs were done. But it was fun!! I still need to work on carving and tighter turns, but I can see myself getting there now. I also agree about the accessory package.

What a brilliant review! I'm 70yrs old and in the process of advertising my bike for sale; I don't want my last ride to be a wreck. Guess I'm not seriously considering a one wheel, but if I were younger I think it would be right up my alley cause it's the closest thing to effortless motion available, that doesn't require a license, etc.kind of like flying on the ground. I am 59, and considering one of these. I will say, as I have gotten older, I respect not getting injured, as healing time is longer. I can ride a skateboard just fine, and a unicycle, so I consider myself to have decent balance. I would lean towards the GT, as I weigh in the 190’s. My wife tells me I would get killed on one, but that never stopped any of my other purchases 😂

Just found your channel. 👍 Congrats on the Pint, Onewheels are great fun. I've got over 7000 miles on my XRs and the thing I wish someone had told me at the start would be to practice jumping off with both feet. Forget heel lift dismount and simple stop, just practice over and over slowing right down and jump off with both feet. Do it so many times that you can do it nice and neat and your Pint just plops down gracefully... jumping off heelside is best, so your Pint is in front of you. It sounds like a dumb thing to practice, but you program your brain/reflexes for both feet to instantly leave the board at the same time, and be able to do it effortlessly. Then later, when you are in a bail out situation (will happen a lot) you can just get both feet instantly off the board and get them on the ground in a safe footing, trust me, this will save your bacon... 😎

Good video. I really agree about the fender. Lucky for me the shop I bought from through one in for free. I'm not sure about the need for charge plug but I don't ride in dirt and water. You treat machines good and they will treat you better. The rail guards are a waste. You can use the same protective tape we use on Mt bike frames and SUP rails. Works awesome! I'm a little on the fence about the Fang thing. I bought a V1 7 yrs ago rode 1500mi and never had a nose dive. My son had a nose dive 50ft from the house? He hit hard and it scared the crap out of him. So I built front safety wheels for it out of some old roller blades...Super easy diy mod. They didn't help my sons fear but I left them on anyway. I put a Two-x battery on my V1 and even though the motor is rated 500w for the given battery voltage my ranged more than doubled. Did I mention that I weight about 250lbs LOL. I put an after market mini lighted voltmeter on it and never looked back. Never needed to carry a phone again. When the Pint came out I had to try it. Wholly crap what a cool board! I rode XR's side by side with my V1/ Two-x and in my world I couldn't feel the difference. I really wanted a new toy anyway. so bought a Pint. I just ride for the ride. I'm not a basher or a speed demon and my Mountain bike is my off road machine of choice. I bought the Pint and 3 different wore out tires later I upgraded the battery to make it a Quart. Personally I love the tighter stance of the Pint. This is a turny little machine and even at 250lbs it will go further than care to ride in one session. I'm 66 now and still 250lbs and still having a blast on my Pint. I've ridden everything and for me it's still my fav! I guess not for everyone.

Thanks for the video. Most of the turning is done with the rear foot so normally people have their dominant foot on the rear like a snowboard. Right "handed" people have left foot forward. Left "handed" people are "goofy footed" with the right foot forward.
@tonystubbs9189 Жыл бұрын
While I agree with the comment about turning with the rear foot the rest really isn't accurate at all.
@Funcentric Жыл бұрын
@@tonystubbs9189 it’s not really a matter of agreeing or not. It’s observing how things are. Most people who are right footed are not goofy footed. Makes sense because think about which foot you would turn with - the dominant one.

Well anyways this version makes more sense. Left footed and left handed are quite different. And you may not know a large portion of left handed people have become quite ambidextrous in this right handed world. Rightys don't notice this.

Okay you've convinced me on the padded motorcycle jacket. It's less of a hurdle to riding as far as putting on elbow pads, and it has the shoulders. Plus it can look a lot cooler. If I'm forced to ride in the sun, that's less skin that needs sunscreen, and UV rays also go through regular clothing. Then also just the general skin coverage to prevent grazes on areas that aren't like an elbow. After some research, you actually have the exact jacket I landed on. Except now they have a version 2 that I do definitely prefer. Then there's still other pads, too.

I lost my charge port cover the second day I had my board and never replaced it. I currently have 1500 miles on my pint on and off road, in the city, in parks, at festivals, etc. I've even gotten caught in the rain a few times where the water running down the street was a good 6+ inches deep(first month I owned it got caught out and about when hurricane Laura hit). I saw one of these for the first time in Mississippi over the 4th of July and have been researching ever since. This is the first video that is the closest to my skill level. I LOVE this video

Your early fails were as enjoyable as your later successes. I actually enjoyed this video. The devil is in the details and you were very informative in a clever cheeky sort of way. Thank you for the review.,add more content and i will sub.

A good way to find if you ride standard or goofy foot, is to run and jump. The foot/leg you put in front is your dominate foot. Awesome channel!

Nice first video .. I’m in .. let’s see where this goes. ALSO … extra points for the ballsy move of learning on concrete! LOL. And “Dickered” .. adding to the vocabulary.

I really enjoyed your video. I saw it even though I have been using my onewheel pint for over a month now. I completely agree on all your points. It isn't as easy as it looks in the beginning, but once you get the hang of it , it's sooooo much fun! Your video is top quality. Keep up the good work! I subscribed and look forward to seeing more from you. Take care :)

Richard, great video. Thanks for documenting your training from zero. I enjoyed watching your video. From the start I got hooked on how detailed you explained each aspect of first owning a Onewheel. You might have been a newbie Onewheel owner but you definitely have a talent for making videos. You made me laugh and it was very cool to see your progress from watching you be respectful and having that fear of the Onewheel to then you just cruizing and becoming one with the Your Onewheel. Thanks again and your video has definetly given me a little bit of a push towards getting one myself. You earned my LIKE and SUB. Keep up the great work Richard.

Up front and off the bat, your video is awesome! The more I watched it, the more interesting and satisfying it became to me. Your whole layout of the OneWheel machine itself was good and the explanations for some of the accessories was pleasing to hear. I have had a WOWGO long board for about a year and a half and was thinking about getting a OneWheel. I may not get one just on the idea of thinking that you get more bang for your bucks with an electric skateboard. Nevertheless, good video and a new subscriber here. Have a good one!

Epic review, very nice job! Perma-dickered haha, that's a new one for me. This was very helpful and cool to see the progression from complete noob to riding confidently over a couple of months. Also helpful to think about rider size and model. I'm 200lbs so considering the larger option from your suggestion.

This was an amazing video. I enjoyed how you showcase how the product works right out of the box with out any cuts/editing display product works.

I learned on my buddies Onewheel pint. I had no problem except I wasn’t told about kick back. I think that’s the only thing you need to tell people before they get on for the 1st time and then they will be fine

Thanks, sweet vid. Longtime rider tip: Create a couple Onewheel playlists and enjoy riding to your favorite tunes! I can barely ride now without good tunes.
