Other board is EXTREMELY similar, just 18s2p instead of 19s2p, and Hypercore with Pint Hub instead of Superflux HS! Lighter under the feet, easier to whip around on ground and in air, and easier to carry around haha. I really only prefer the Superflux in a racing context where I need all the power I can get while at speed (though thermals are also not a concern at my weight lol).

Damn that was savage! like 5 videos worth of gold in 1 shot! Are we able to use our existing rear kush to turn it into kush hooks?
@nicoaleman11 сағат бұрын
If you mean XR, it will require the new Kush, the pad has a slightly new shape that the mount is designed around, and the mount requires some new attachment points that aren't on the old kush. I think existing GT Kush's *may* be compatible if they have those two rear attachment points near the end of the tail, but not 100% on that.
@TelijahP02420 сағат бұрын
The innovation is so constant and awesome to see. Doesn't look like that tire will fit a Floatwheel though since the burris only fits without the fender. Time to sell my GT and build a VEXR lol. Those footholds looks absolutely amazing. Can't wait
@TelijahP02420 сағат бұрын
Even for those of us that aren't pushing it to the limits, those footholds look like we'll get disconnected from the board way less making it safer for even amatuers. It's like flightfins as toe holds with the 45 degree front foot angle...ahhh...chefs kiss
@nicoaleman20 сағат бұрын
Hard to say, it'll be close, but we can't confirm until we go to production since the diameter can slightly change with each revision. We're designing the tire to fill out our BTG rails first and foremost, but we will probably check on a Floatwheel when it's ready just to get an answer on that.
@MrDmadness19 сағат бұрын
If you cut a fender in half, you can fit it.. you need a chunk of plastic to bridge the gap for a full fender. If you can get an abs plastic one as abs - abs is not a "glue" connection its called a "solvent weld " which is much much stronger ( the acrinotrile and styrine chemically bonds to itself on a molecular level ((

Thanks for this Nico! I have the adv so obviously no 5" hub would fit this huge motor. My ears perked up when you said the bigger tire gives added suspension which is awesome! However that will also raise the height of the board which is a negative. Can you notice the difference in height? How does this setup feel for street riding?
@nicoaleman21 сағат бұрын
The difference in height is noticeable, but plenty of people ride it as is and still love it. That said, with the ADV, you can just lower the axle height to negate that height difference while still getting the better suspension of the big tire. It's definitely a solid move! I know tons of people running ADV's with the big Burris 11.5x7-6 TX11 (treaded) or SS11 (slick), you just gotta remove the mini fenders for clearance since it can rub otherwise. If you were doing mostly street riding, it probably wouldn't be my first choice, but just depends on your ride style. I just like something more nimble and responsive for street riding. But it's a solid choice for high speed street mobbing and tanking through unexpected potholes and bumps at speed.

Can you elaborate on tuning the footpads for max reliability? I still get footpad completely disengaged at 11mph errors on my vesc! Love the build!
@nicoaleman8 сағат бұрын
If you're footpad is cutting at speed, assuming essential parameters like ADC thresholds and Half Switch Fault ERPM (speed below which heel lift disengage is possible) are set up correctly, this would indicate either some serious hardware issues, or maybe bad sensor placement if you're using a smaller aftermarket sensor where there could be non-sensored areas on the pad. I say this, as riding above Half Switch Fault ERPM requires you to completely come off the sensor to disengage, which should never happen while riding outside of things like jumps/bonks! I would definitely investigate this before anything else. That said, I use features like Posi (Treat Both Sensors as One), Dirty Trick Landings, and Push Start to help ensure I get solid engagement everytime, and if my board does disengage for whatever reason, it's quick to re-engage the moment it picks up my foot regardless of board angle. I also sometimes have my Full Switch Fault Delay (disengagement delay) a bit higher at 400ms or so to be less prone to unintended disengages. All these are under the Float CFG -> Start/Stop menus. Lastly, I use a feature called Disable Moving Faults, which essentially makes it so as long as the motor is spinning forward, the board stays engaged no matter what. This gives me the ultimate peace of mind that my board will stay engaged through whatever I throw at it while riding at speed, especially through jumps, and even in the event of sensor failure. This works safely because any time your board ghosts (engaged without a rider), it will want to roll backwards since the tail is heavier, so the board naturally comes to a stop and disengages, as Disable Moving Faults is only active for forward rotation. There are some caveats where this could cause your board to stay engaged when unintended, notably if you jumped off on a steep downhill where the tail doesnt have clearance to naturally brake without a rider, if it didnt tip over on its own. Though these cases are pretty dang rare and specific, and I've never had any issues in the two years I've run the feature. Just take caution.

OK, ive made a few comments already. Gin talking. Kush wides in hand & 3" flat spot in the middle then transitions into a TOTALLY FLAT "concave" to the edges. Nothing like a skate deck at ALL. That's my 0.02 cents. Gonna return the kush wides and will make my own out of sheet aluminum. I wish I could just buy a comperable product but hopefully it works out. Compared to Flight Fins, Foot Hooks seem to be a tripping hazard when trying to run it out. Flight Fins allow me to control the board with the top of my feet as well as the bottom... and I can run it out without getting tripped up.
@nicoaleman13 сағат бұрын
I cover it a bit at 20:14, but as someone that ran FlightFins for 3 years (2 of those years racing), I find outside footholds to be superior and more natural feeling in a high speed riding context, and helped me develop technique that completely transformed how I ride. A wider stance is already more suitable for high speeds anyways for greater stability, but ignoring stance width, I just find it much more comfortable and natural feeling to constantly exert outward pressure to stay engaged with the board, rather than constantly squeezing in. To me, inside footholds like Flight Fins seem more suitable for engaging with the hooks in short bursts, rather than being engaged with the hooks at all times. The benefit there is certainly that it's easier to bail, no doubt about it. However, at high speeds, the control of outside hooks is able to much more consistently keep me out of bail situations at all compared to other options. And when it does happen, we luckily designed our hooks with a focus of being easier to bail out of than alternatives. That outside pressure also more closely mimics proper riding technique when riding without footholds (pushing outward against grip tape to engage with footpads and maintain control). Because of this, I found that using these types of footholds improved my overall riding technique both with and without footholds immensely. I was always a modest rider and racer in the 3 years I raced with Fins, but in just 1 month on Control Freaks, I was suddenly throwing down top results at the biggest races in the nation, they genuinely were a game changer for me. And to be clear, you can still absolutely rip with Flight Fins, there's a number of top riders that have proved they're still more than viable like Jahfari Silsley and Chabre Schumacher. I'm just trying to share the love of what absolutely changed the game for me and has ultimately made my riding experience SO much more fun over the last 2 years that I've been on Control Freaks and now Kush Hooks ❤
