Hi! My name is Loretta, a girl from the U.S. who moved to Japan! I'm here on the MEXT scholarship program as a graduate student, studying to get a Masters in Business Administration. Here are some answers to common questions:
1. Do I Speak Japanese? Yep! I was taught formally in High School and have been speaking now for over 15 years.
2. What are you studying? I'm a recent grad of Yokohama National University's "Masters of Business Administration" Program
3. How old are you?: Year of the dragon. :D The math is up to you.
4. How did you get into Japanese school?: tinyurl.com/yb8yylch
5. What camera equipment do you use?: I film my videos with a Canon 60D using a 30mm Sigma Art Lens and I edit with Sony Vegas Pro 10 (with some help from photoshop). Additional cameras include GoPro Hero 7 Black and DJI Majic Air

WELCOME TO AKITA INAKA SCHOOL. So glad to finally share my stay in Akita pref. with you!!! For those of you looking for where to travel when things come back up, please check out the courses with my friends at AIS (links in video description)! I stayed for the floofy akita-inu skiing, snow angel-y winter course, but you can sign up for other seasons if you prefer less snow! (...why would you though...)

Hi! This is exactly the type of experience I've been wanting, and may actually hit this place up in the next year or so ;) but I may have to move to Kyushu in the next year or 2, and an immersive language school like this could really be a game changer for me - do you have any leads on a school like this in southern Japan?

Some of the outdoor shots were so picturesque they didn't even look real. This looked like such a fun trip. And the people that are attending classes are so varied it looks like a fun culture mish-mash just from that aspect. Honestly, this looks like a dream school. You get to learn but you're also enveloped into the local populace and embraced in their culture. It's like a dream. THE DREAM!!! Hahaha!

After living in Akita myself it’s so heartwarming to see efforts like this to keep the smaller communities thriving! I’m very tempted to move back if I’m ever able. Also, if those students can get to a point where they can understand Akita-ben they’ll definitely go far with their Japanese. 😂

Yeah, the Tohoku (northern mainland region) dialects are no joke! I lived in Fukushima for 2 years and that was the first Japanese I ever learned. It was amazing how countryside life is so connected with the seasons but the Fukushima-ben was definitely a challenge!

What's some Akita ben?! Only northern dialect word I am aware of is 「~べ。」.
@kappanjoe
@kappanjoe 3 жыл бұрын
Deez Nutz There’s a few words (many of which are shared throughout Tohoku in general) such as 「け」 meaning eat, sit, hair, or itchy, but more than that there’s a lot of differences in pronunciation. Native 秋田弁 speakers often sound to others like they’re slurring their speech, and the dialect uses 独音 (vocalized sounds) in places you wouldn’t in standardized (not sure what the best word is for that?) Japanese.

I am Polish .In 1920 and 1922, Japan rescued 765 Polish orphans in Siberia. Poland asked Japan to rescue a Polish orphan in Siberia. Japan promised to rescue immediately. The smallest orphaned child was 2 years old. The child was crying near the dead mother. The Japanese rescued the orphan immediately. The child told the dead mother "Goodbye Mom". Japan rescued a total of 765 Polish orphans.Japan sent orphans to Japan for treatment.Orphans ate delicious and warm meals every day. All Polish orphans have recovered. Almost all Japanese donated money to save orphans. On the day of return, all 765 Polish orphans returned to Poland safely. In 2018, an elementary school commemorating this was completed in Warsaw. Thank you Japan. God bless Japan.
