Learning to Wheelie in 3rd Gear | Yamaha MT09

I Finally Learned how to clutch up wheelies in 3rd gear! I am not a professional in any sense. This video was just me learning through trial and error. Hope you guys enjoy! If you have any questions or advice, please leave a comment.

glad I found this video, as I have been full throttle before release, no TCS, clutch up in A mode trying to get my MT09 to wheelie in 3rd and it doesn't go anywhere. I will now go back and try again with the same method you are using.

my update, I went back to try the 3rd clutch up again and it was a success, my issue was I was trying it at 45-50mph and it needs to be around 25-35mph (stock) kinda annoying though how a bike with so much torque struggles with wheelies at 45-50 when so many other bikes are doing it, and with smaller capacity engines with less torque.

brother, I come here spreading knowledge, you're doing power wheelies, to master wheelies in any gear, try passing the accel stance point where the bike falls into you and you work with braking, that'll progress you faster than anything and you will get total control of your bike instead of trying to maintain a wheelie while speeding to keep it up. I'm brazilian, I know what I'm talking abt 😊😊, nice video!

Wise words from a brazilian. Any tips on getting over the fear of dying when you hit the balance point?

@@slothmoto get a lighter bike, smaller one, 80% chance of screwing up on the process, thus a bike that's manageable on falling might help with fear because there will not be serious harm threats. Even on a bicycle you can get used to the balance exercise. Lower speeds help maintain safety and boosts confidence while also increasing intimacy with the bike and more advanced moves. Quick guide: start on a stationary position, get the bike up and slowly start moving with it for 2 weeks to keep the braking on your muscle memory, it will hurt your arms. Then while moving, lift the bike up until the balance point the slam the brakes, slowly try to control the brake while managing the throttle to keep yourself in that position. This muscle memory will help you not fall forever on any bike.
