Roots on trails, curbs, uneven surfaces have been my biggest challenges to date (about 1.5 years into riding Onewheels). I'm an old guy - I think my brain thought I was doing enough just to stay on, nothing is needed - I'd plow over it. Countless falls later I can attest: doing nothing over bumps, shoulder drops etc usually end in a fall off. So this video is very helpful - thank you: I'll be practicing these techniques. Jake - a focused topic for future video if haven't done already (I'm not seeing one specifically on this): safety gear. 1 broken rib, 1 cracked elbow, 2 sprained wrists & 1 head smack to unconsciousness later I saw you or your partner was wearing the Leatt tops and bottoms. Though I've gotten much better and don't fall as much I gear up every time anymore - has saved me much pain on my old brittle bones - and has made the amazing ride all the more enjoyable. A focused video based on your teams experience on all the great / wise safety gear options with links where to buy would be a good one.

Great video. I wish you could do s video on teaching someone how to go over bumps. I just got mine recently and only rode it 3 times. I'm afraid to go over even an inch lol I'm afraid of the wobble. Plus on my street after the inch there's an incline in driveways so after riding then you gotta go up slightly. I've only been riding on flat surfaces.

Thanks for the tips! I'm still new, and bumps are giving me the hardest time right now. Even if I don't take a dive, my foot positions shift and I have to stop and reposition. I'm assuming it's a matter of bending my knees more, and being flexible. I look forward to watching the rest of your videos, so I can someday ride my onewheel with style. =)

Hey Jake, any chance you could give us a tutorial video for Pint riders (with the more rounded tire) and hitting uneven pavement/driveway ramps at an angle & how to handle it? I always feel the need to hit bumps perfectly perpendicular cuz the board rocking/wobbling freaks me out. Mario Contino said the board kinda...twists? Idk if I’m ready to experience that 😂
@TheFloatLife4 жыл бұрын
Shoot, maybe! We all ride XRs so it's tough to take the Pint out.
