Ep booster is not a compressor. It is the pre-amp section of eco plex. Ep stands for Eco plex.

Did they ever fix the XLR out? It was unusable with the volume, I had one and returned it, needed an update from day one

I think you are asking how to assign button 2 of the footswitch to boost. With your amp connected to your device, open Catalyst Edit, click on the Global Settings icon in the top right corner, click on the FS2 icon, and select Boost Bypass in the menu that appears.
