As a German speaker myself, I’ve always found Dutch to be very fascinating - how about doing a comparison between Dutch and German? The Easy German Team already did it in their channel, but it would be interesting to have it done from the perspective of a Dutch speaker 👍🏼

Interesting would be a coparison between the Dutch Low-Saxon dialect (Nedersaksisch, plat) and the German Low-Saxon dialect (Niedersächsisch, Platt)

@alfonsmelenhorst9672
@alfonsmelenhorst9672 3 жыл бұрын
@@r0conscious There are relatively very few french loanwords in Dutch. Not more than in German. Only English is full of french loanwords. Dutch has even very Germanic native words for technical terms. Aardrijkskunde = Geography, Wiskunde = Mathematics, Scheikunde = Chemistery. Diergeneeskunde = Veterinary, Zuurstof = Oxigen, Bijvoegelijk naamwoord = Adjective. etc. Even German does not have most of them.

Dankuwel! This is absolutely excellent: the content is sensible, useful, and interesting, and yet the language lives up to its promise of being super easy. The pace and clarity of speech are just right. Please do continue with this series. Similar easy but sensible introductions to other places in the Netherlands and to any aspects of Dutch culture (music, art, language, history, geography, life-style, education, architecture, literature, journalism, politics...) would be most welcome.

If you are learning German and English at the same time, you are also learning Dutch. President Soekarno once did not allow Dutch to be learnt at school. This continues until today. That is why we cannot find any Dutch classes in senior-high schools in Indonesia.

@@desmorgens3120 yes, exactly. There must be reasonable explanation why we couldn't have Dutch class. Indeed German, English and Dutch all of them are quite similar at the some point. So, learn one of them will influence learning process another language that came from the same language family. Anyway, thanks for the information

Goede video.

I love Easy Dutch. I've been preparing for a trip to the Netherlands, where I haven't been since the early 1990's. I especially like the videos where you tour a Dutch city. I lived in Den Haag for three years close to Scheveningen, and my school was in Scheveningen (it's now an embassy). So I suggest more along those lines. There are some terrific cities and other places in Holland like Terschelling, De Efteling, or the Afsluitdijk, etc. Also, how about Dutch food and drink like haring, patat met pindasaus, rijsttafel, and so on?

I just found your channel. I think it will be helpful to me in developing listening skills in learning some basic Dutch. But I have to laugh, because you think that speaking slowly makes it "super easy." What you don't realize is that for a beginner, there is the issue of not having the vocabulary to understand what you are saying , no matter how slowly you say it. Your vocabulary is rather advanced beyond beginner, maybe more like intermediate.
