The price of the Sheds one is crazy, I do wonder how they’re lights are so low. Thanks as always for the brilliant video.

Thanks for the kind words! Shehds makes some pretty good lights for some really good prices, but honestly the quality and craftsmanship of the LaserCubes are amazing. (not to mention that the operating software is incredible)

Great video! I wonder if the Shehds is really 6 watts. I think the Lasercube has more accurate scanners, is much smaller (obviously), and is battery powered, but the Constellaser looks really nice for a quarter of the price!

A TENTH of the price. 300 vs 3000

@@mojo3898 The constellaser is not $300. That is the price of the flight case. The actual price is $650.

Thank you for the awesome video and comparison. This is huge for small light designers like myself. I just have one question: what's the scanning speed of each machine? I feel like this is a big factor in the price difference
@hrtbrkd
@hrtbrkd Жыл бұрын
A couple factors come into play with the price difference. The laserCube has a built-in DAC to work with LaserOS. The Sheds Laser would need an additional purchase to work with a Laser Software of you choosing. The scan rate is a bit different but for an entry level laser 20k-30k is just fine. Ideally you would want anything above 25k. If the Sheds is 6W then the video probably didn’t do it justice because it should have looked way brighter than a 2.5W laser. Both have ILDA IN and OUT so you can get a DAC from a different vendor and use their software to control and create new CUEs/Laser Beams and Animations. I own some LaserCubes and I can tell you their LaserOS software is the easiest to learn compared to the industry standards. Thankfully you can always buy a 3rd party laser with ILDA IN and OUT and then buy a LaserDock Dongle and use that to connect to LaserOS to help bring the costs down if you wanted to stay in the LaserOS ecosystem.

There's no comparison, the Constellaser has much more vivid colors and much brighter output. All this makes this video some valuable information, thank you. I just finished reviewing several videos from the LaserCube's library and wasn't impressed. They were all pretty weak and lame, but the timeline tool looked great. I want to recreate the Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd laser light shows from the 1990s, and I want a machine with the capability to animate those clever scenes. Are those programs, those laser projects, available for purchase in some libraries? Anyone ever reproduce them or immulate those performances?
@LearnLizard

The Constellaser looks good in this video and is a nice machine, but the LaserCube's honestly have much more capability and are very high quality products. To recreate those classic laser show effects you want to use beam effects. LaserOS has a feature called "Beam Creator" which works great. You can learn a little bit about it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJ3dgGqqaqiWa7c

So I want to order the Shehds laser above. I am in the process of trying to figure out the FDA Variance application. Could you please let me know if you ONLY FILLED OUT the application for variance from 21 cfr 1040.11. for laser light show, display or device.. This will only be used as something to do and learn DMX and DMX software. These.FDA forms are not the easiest. Thanks for any help

I am dissapointed you did not discuss the power difference. It is hard to tell from a video. What about light output measurements? A laser power meter sets you back $500 but I would think essential if you want to review lasers. Look closer at the machines. What about noise levels, fan quality? I can tell you from experience that the tiny fans in the laser cube are very loud. Just hey look pretty lights just doesn't cut it mate.
@LearnLizard
@LearnLizard 6 ай бұрын
Yeah, its hard to compare every feature in a short video, (especially if you don't have a $500 power meter!) ...that being said, I have never had an issue with the LaserCube fans being too loud. They are great little machines...

Both of them have physical beam blockers that you can adjust and the LaserCube has more sophisticated options where you can set up and preview safety zones in the LaserOS software.

If you want to operate laser systems outside of your house, there is a federal document you have to fill out for any system above 100mw I am pretty sure. Honestly, for small events, it is not as necessary but for bigger productions it is essential. Hope this helps I am still new too!

Lasercube is Sold thru XLaser and They have a great System to get a Variance !!! I don't know Where Shedd is Manufactured but if Outside the USA they are Very Hard to Variance.. The Manufactured Laser must be approved by the FDA to Sell Their products in the US... Huge Fines can happen.. and Variance approval can take months.. !!!
