As you may already know bodylines are often more difficult than repairs on open panels due to the tension that is formed in the panel when the bodyline is originally shaped and formed. Also the effect it has on the reading device whether that's lines or fog. Its a different approach when working on bodylines and the repair process is more complex and less forgiving so accuracy plays a big part so it usually takes a lot more 'persuading' to get the metal back to its original shape and the tension is much harder to release and redistribute. I hope you enjoy the video!

Hi Tom very nice repair and video those winter conditions must surely add to the difficulty of the repair in itself.

Thanks Bill, yes cold days like this do make the repair harder, so important to keep the panel warm to reduce risk of cracking the paint with the harder pushes. Also tough on me as I spent the best part of 3 weeks at home over Christmas... I forgot all about the cold ha ha 👍🏻

Hi, Tom, nice job. I would like to ask how to determine glue pulling or hook pulling the dent? Thank you.
@LearnPDROnline
@LearnPDROnline Жыл бұрын
Thank you, generally it comes with a bit of experience but sometimes it comes down to which areas I can actually gain access to and how tight the dent is. often it can be a combination of both to see what works too

I watch lots of these videos, due to editing there is always a point where improvement miraculously seems to happen! I can pull and tap crowns and blend but my metal is always stronger than the stuff I watch on screen. I definitely need one on one training I think, if I am to believe this is all just hype and nonsense!

As a company that offers paid training courses there is of course a limit to what we show in our free online videos, it is unlikely that the metal you work on is stronger than the metal in all of the other videos you watch online so yes I agree training is most likely what you are missing.

@@LearnPDROnline I appreciate you offer online training, I am thinking more of few days in an environment where I can actually try hands on and try to get to grips with the methodology. Everyone has different approaches, I am thinking it's really all about experience, and you can't train that, you have to do it to experience it (unless you are a plumber, who seem to train and start a business in as much time as it takes to insure a van)!

Just like the cars! But the people. So it's just a? I like what you did. Just learning the tension. Getting a barge of oil cans. But I started with a bridge tool and 3" tri corner dent. It looks atrocious, how can people treat cars so badly? The door panel is stretched, low is 1/4" on a structure line. Pinched up. Chev equinox rear hatch. Lots of room inside.
