Hii thank you for your intake on this as i am in the similar situation... I've got 5 years of experience in IT industry 4 years as a Quality Analyst and 1 year in product management, since January I have not been working as i was facing some medical issues. but in the mean time I completed certifications such as Google project management, AWS fundamentals, and Power BI course on coursera... but I feel like These online certifications do not help in landing a job, dont get me wrong its a great tool to learn, expand, and Hone our skills and knowledge but it doesn't give a strong impressions about candidate to employers in order to hire them..... these are my thoughts, if anyone is reading this I would love to know your thoughts and would like to know what you would do in my situation?

Im in the same boat i got Google it support professional certificate and i have no call backs at all with it. I have little experience i did work in my it office at my college but i couldn't work like i wanted to because i needed to work at another job to save money to get a place (i was about to graduate) and i never really had an internship opportunities because i couldn't pass the interview process.... I got a bachelor's degree in computer science and i never have gotten a job in the tech field yet.

Come on dude, you think employers will care about coursera certifications? As someone who has so many years of experience in the industry, you should already know that there are certifications and qualifications that employers look for in candidates. For example the CompTIA trifecta, cloud certifications such from AWS, Azure, GCP, etc, and so on It sounds like you have the experience. You may need to study and obtain a certification related to the job you want, and then have your resume reviewed and checked

Thanks for this video. I'm from the UK but was interested in Course Careers - particularly their data analyst course. I asked them whether I could make use of their material even though I'm not US-based and they told me that although they couldn't give me specific UK help for job searches etc, the skills would be transferable. I am aiming to study some of the basics of data analytics (SQL, Excel, Tableau/Power-BI, and Python) for free, before maybe taking CourseCareers to shore up my knowledge and push me through a "process" of getting my portfolio and resume up to scratch. I would really appreciate if you can point me in the direction of a UK focussed course or if you have any advice for those of us who aren't US-based.

@@ThrillhouseToTheMax the CFI has a comprehensive course in data analytics it's called BIDA business intelligence and data analytics... The CFI is a finance edu provider. They used to have freemium courses but now you only get a preview for free, though with 250 USD you get access to the whole catalogue. So you can get more courses done, if you still have time.

Most accounts will be replaced by AI, just become a tax attorney if you’re interested in the accounting field.

I've bought several courses, planning to stack skills during grief and sabbatical time. I didn't finish those before getting a job however. But I plan to in the next year. Nonetheless, I noticed one of those review sites showed high points for their Digital Marketing in 2023. I find that really suspect since they yanked it and completely redid the course after a few months, citing students not getting the best education and being unprepared for the workforce. Now, that is shady.

It is terrible for software development. Notice it is always for tech sales of people with positive reviews. It is absolutely horrible for learning software development.
