Your new and should factory warranty . Shirt is nice. Good to know about the wifi. I am with you that you have to like your office to make the payment easier every week, I am glad you went thith the Pete and new rather than used up. You got this. Thank you for taking us along for the ride and spending your time too film and edit.

A bit late here but I’ve tried to do the same thing at the terminals here at prime and it only caused me more problems trying to get off the yard. SLC is terrible for freight for us. I usually end up having to deadhead to Idaho or Colorado for a load out.

A Peterbuilt has always been better than a freightliner. Peterbuilt has improved the turning. You don’t see many Peterbuilts in the junkyard . You can never stop it from shaking it rolls like they are going to stop.And if you ever follow one. It never goes straight down the road. Always from side to side.But you can always find parts for one at the junkyard.👍

One area that Peterbilt absolutely DESTROYS Freightliner... The ride in the back when somebody ELSE is driving... If two team trucks, one a Pete, one a Shaker, are driving down the same road, at the same time of day, with the same conditions, and assuming the drivers of both trucks have similar driving abilities and habits... There is NO COMPARISON between the ride between the two trucks... The Pete will win all day, everyday for sleeper comfort while in motion... Night time too... I don't know if you ever plan on training or not, once you get to that point of your career, but you wont regret being in a Pete for anything truck related when it is time for the trainee to drive while you sleep... Trainee skills not withstanding... But then again, as a trainer, that is what your there for anyway...
@nobull44149 ай бұрын
The reason that Pete rides better than Freightliner is that the Pete has a longer wheelbase. You can order a Freightliner with O/O specs which gives you a longer wheel base and airbags on the front which increases your steer tire life 30%.
@js35999 ай бұрын
@@nobull4414 Yes, that is true, length DOES factor in significantly... BUT... My experience with both trucks is that you need significantly more wheelbase for the freightliner to be able to compete with the ride of a shorter wheelbase Peterbilt... There really IS a difference, not that Freightliner does not have its own advantages... But ride is not, and NEVER HAS been one of them... I hope this changes soon... Massive improvements have been made over the last few years....But still no dice... Something else you need to factor in... Many mega carrier fleets, such as Prime, have length restrictions on ALL trucks , company AND lease... All lease trucks are limited to these restrictions... In order to get a Freightliner with sufficient wheelbase to match a Peterbilt, you will have to exceed those restrictions, which Prime will not allow you to even order a new truck to those specs and lease with them... Just like the 65 mph restriction... A must have if you want to drive for Prime... I looked up in Prime website that they have a 244 inch maximum tractor wheelbase for refer and tanker divisions, which I know their standard issue Freightliners do have room to extend the length... Just not enough to make a freightliner compete with a Pete with those same specs... Slime is obviously in the refer division... Prime's Tanker division does have a maximum length of 265 inches... which offers a good ride for even the freightliner, but she is clearly not in that division... I should point out that I do NOT work for Prime, so my information I have about the company is extremely limited, and comes either from common knowledge of all megacarriers in general, and/or their own website ONLY... and NOT from ANY opinions of past, current, or especially the" NEVER have, NEVER will be" (The LEAST reliable source of all) drivers of Prime that will likely be biased one way or another... Everything I have said about the trucks themselves comes from my own personal experience with each of these two brands of trucks... Which will always vary from truck to truck, and driver to driver... PLUS.. Opinions always vary...

@@js3599 What about the PACCAR, vs. the DD engines?
@js35999 ай бұрын
@@nobull4414Detroit is the better engine overall, but the Paccar is catching up with fuel economy capabilties, but that is just as dependent on the driver as anything else nowadays.. TBH, I was raised on Caterpillar engines, so I will always be biased, because my father used to drive them and passed it on to me when he took me OTR with him whenever school was out... Broke my heart when they pulled out of the class 8 (On Highway) engine business, although their C15 was hit and miss for me.... I remain biased toward Cat anyway, even if only for nostalgia sake...
@nobull44149 ай бұрын
@@js3599 You can do an in-frame with DD, not so with a PACCAR. That's thousands of dollars. PACCAR also has fuel rail and injector problems.
