I have a 2020 Ford Ranger FX4 with 52k miles. I go off road, haul a boat and it’s lifted with 33” tires. I have NOT had a single issue with the drivetrain. The only issue was the rear breaks had premature wear at 34k miles. Front were fine. I have the 2.3 L turbo and it runs great…

@gregoryjames79762 ай бұрын
yeah the 5.4 went out in 2010. The 3.5 and 5.0 suffer from the cam phaser issue. Once the new part# is installed the engines have proven pretty reliable. But do change the oil.

I think I'll just stick to the tractor and a tow chain I think. Got this. Build a truck rather than to buy one off of a lot. At least if you pull it out you know what you're getting. You got to work on it and you got to build it. Yeah that's where I got a '92 Ford ranger and I'm building the truck one more piece and my whole cooling system will be replaced and that's the water pump and the hoses. Everything else the heads are brand new brand, new radiator, brand new heater, core temperature sensor and I'm good

I never had to replace the brakes every time I brought it in for service they would check them and every time they would say nope not yet

You forgot to mention the 2023 and newer Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon had the "bricking" system update that automatically starts to download when a wi-fi signal is detected and when the internet connection is lost it can stick the system in a loop, run the battery down, and bricking the system with an incomplete update requiring the truck to be towed to a dealership to be fixed. The updated 2023 and newer models also had glitchy infotainment systems including even the gauge cluster having problems. I bought a 2022 V6 powered 2WD GMC Canyon Elevation new to avoid the growing pains of a 2023 model update(and I did NOT want a turbo 4 cylinder truck) and so far at 34k no problems. I did concern myself about the transmission reliability, but rolled the dice knowing my 2006 Silverado crew cab with its original all aluminum 5.3L flex fuel engine with 279K on the odometer is still my ol' reliable workhorse.

As stated by others the 5.4 triton engine was phased out of the F150 way back in 2009 so get your story straight!The current engine,s are 2.7 and 3.5 turbo v6, 3.0 v6 naturally aspirated, and the engine in your photo,s the 5.0 coyote v8 and also a high output v6 turbo in the Raptor .The turbo,s have been a little less reliable than both the 3.0 and 5.0 engines . Both of these engines have held up well .
