I 110% agree. I also would run it with every class. I love the way it looks, sounds, and I love the reload animation of stripper clips (except for the tactical reload; solution, shoot until you're empty!) Also when you are in a CQC situation, the hip fire is pretty accurate.

I dunno about you but I hate how poor the ranges are on the pistols in BF1. after Bad Company 2 through to BF4 and BFH, the pistols could be used at range if you were good enough. Now, using a pistol at range is a waste of bullets and makes you give your position away. I want the older ranges back from previous titles. If I'm good enough to hit an enemy at range, I should be rewarded for that to a degree even if I'm at a disadvantage, not have my gun become totally useless in practical terms. I'm not talking 100m plus, just a functional range, given that BF1 maps are more open than previous titles in general meaning more range than previous titles is common, yet the pistols have less range than the previous titles and even the revolvers, the guns that could be used as mini snipers if you were good enough, become totally useless at longer ranges. On top of this, most BF1 pistols have lower magazine capacities over previous titles, meaning overall, pistols are significantly weaker than in previous BF titles.

It sounds like this is more of a ranged finisher with the accuracy and velocity it has, rather than an auxiliary CQC primary like the auto revolver. It'd probably make some sense paired with the Selbstatler 1906.

Makes complete sense. Or it could also be used as a complement to a short range main gun like the M1907 SL. If the enemy is just a little too far off for the main gun to get the job done, a sidearm with above average range capability could be just the thing to finish him off!

That's the beauty of this game. One player's statistically-supported worst weapon can be another player's equally-supported go-to, and neither player is necessarily wrong. Less beautifully, each weapon is always one patch away from going straight from the bottom to the top or vice versa.

Best way to build up a massive score and make a real impact. There's nothing more fun than being in a heated close quarters fight and 6 out of 8 guys around you are injured or die; but then you start healing/reviving and in 10 seconds most of the squad is back up and fighting!

Thanks for doing a video on my favourite gun! It surprised me that is doesnt get used that much because i felt like many medics i see have this gun equipped. But that might just be me because i notice it instantly if someone has it... I personally love this gun i have 6 service stars with it and to me it basically feels like a straight upgrade to the much more used p08 because it has the same ttk but more rounds, better recoil, better muzzle velocity (and it looks better imo :D ) and because it has a hidden stat: it makes you take less damage from automatico (lol actually not but i really feel like i can kick every automatico user's ass with it). Btw dont ads with the c96, hipfire will get the job done most of the time. I think i said everything that came into my head while watching this video... Oh yes: great vid!!

The C96 really should be much more powerful. It's 7.63x25mm Mauser cartridge, while small in caliber, had such great muzzle velocity that for a time, was the most powerful commercially-available pistol cartridge in the world. In fact, it was so powerful that it was only usurped in 1934, when the .357 Magnum was introduced. Yep. .357 Magnum.

Really? My question is HOW the C96 is the least used medic pistol. I absolutely LOVE the C96! Sure the reload is slow at times, but it is still a killing machine. Something must be wrong with the medics of BF1 if they aren't choosing the C96 as their sidearm, but then again there can be like 7 medics standing right next to me and NONE of them can revive me so it's not much of a surprise.

Digito, it doesn't really cause any feelings or nationality related emotions. BF1 multiplayer is about as close to actual WW1 warfare as it is to Star Wars. And even if it was more realistic, no fast paced, fun oriented multiplayer game can even come close to capturing the actual experiences of prolonged front line combat. So yeah, long story short, playing as the Ottomans, French, Austrians, Italians or Americans is about as memorable for me as playing as a German or British soldier.

It’s wild to me that the 1914 was used so little. That little thing kept me alive more times than I can count. It’s crazy coming back to these old battlefield videos and realizing that yeah, I was one of like 40 people who used this or that gun. The hip fire and rate of fire of the 1914 plus the 4 shot kill made it the perfect finishing weapon if only landed 2-3 shots with my SLR and needed just one more hit, or a quick 100-0 kill to save my ass so I could go on to revive my squad. It’s exactly everything you want in a good sidearm plus it sounds so poppy and angry it’s like having a little attack dog in your holster, just itching to get someone real quick. The ridiculously fast reload as well means it’s absolutely perfect as a backup for when you get rushed and there’s more than one enemy. Spam the first guy in bullets, take cover quick, reload, and spam the next guy. Rinse, repeat. And as a avid model 8 user, who dumps 5 rounds in a second, I got very very good at using my pistol. For a while it was my highest kill count weapon while I was adjusting to the marksman Auto 8 from the extended.

I believe there might be a mistake in the reload time : as you can see at, for example, 11:48 , you're missing 8 bullet from a full mag, but the animation shows only a reload of 4. I think it might be worth investigating if symthic didn't count 8 times single bullet animation time instead of 4 (plus the animation start-up obviously). Maybe i'm wrong though

The last bullet is loaded individually. Symthic is not technically wrong, but it's a little misleading. The stats seem to be accurate, however where it says "single bullet reload," it's also referring to when you put in 2 rounds at a time, as well as just 1.

Just curious, but will the next episode be the Steyr m1912? I've just got a feeling that with the order this series is going, the least used support sidearm is next and I rarely see anyone using the steyr except myself and one of my friends. It's probably my favorite sidearm because of its aesthetics and cool reload animation. It does work well in actual gameplay as long as you don't reload with bullets still in the mag.

Fun fact: Not only was this gun used in part of creating Han Solo's gun but it can be found in old Daredevil comics used by Bullseye. In old 80s and backward issues featuring him appearing it featured him using this as his pistol on more than one occasion. It was like how the joker I think superficially was always shown to use a luger or any hand gun with a skinny barrel. I can even direct to issues of Bullseye actually using it too, in order to prove it. I don't know if they continued this till this day.

I use the pistol on my load out that is more catered to longer ranges, and it serves as my mid range finisher. Admittedly it's not a perfect gun, but it does work fairly well for finishing at ranges where the Revolver ( which is usually my main choice) can't quite get the job done.

My favorite medic pistol. The only one I'll use in fact. I just feels right to me. Might not hit hard but since I use the 1906 Luger Rifle, I usually only need 2-3 C96 shots to finish someone off if I miss 1 too many shots with my rifle. The high velocity helps with finishing off those longer range stragglers. I definitely don't think anyone should rely on the C96 as a primary, but it's great as a longer ranged finisher.

The reason that some pistols have the exact same damage model is because they use the same ammunition. Dice balances a weapons damage based on its cartridge.

I feel like it's worth adding that this gun when rapid firing while aiming down the sights the front sight stays where your bullets are going to hit. visually it looks like you're all over the place but the front sight stays true in my experience.

I love the C96 and P08. Barely any recoil, it's super easy to get headshots with. You can easily compensate for the recoil, it really doesn't move it as much as it looks. It kicks, but the bullets still go down the middle of the screen it seems like lol.

The long reload of the C96 reload is quicker than you said. The most you can load individually is 5 bullets. It loads 2 for 1 bullet when you reload.

i find your experience with the c96 weird since i run it on my medic class all the time and have no trouble getting kills with it even when i main it instead of using it as a job finisher (also yes the whole reason i use it is because it's the inspiration for han solos blaster)

I really just wish that all sidearms were universal. The Gasser is my favorite sidearm, but my favorite class is the Medic, so I can't use it unless I'm doing Assault. I don't understand why Dice did it.

I could swear that the tanker class had a scoped C96 during the Beta. That would have almost been it... except that it was probable the carbine version which is a bit different

As someone who plays oretty well on console BF1, this is my preferred sidearm. Turns out, 1-2 extra bullets re5slly DOES matter in close range. Auto revolver is still good, but the aesthetic of this is too great to pass up.

i can understand why people dont use this gun but its the only medic gun i use! its one of the few guns that actually "feels right" in my hand(which is like the only point when picking a sidearm), and probably, because im a big Mauser fanboy :-P been wanting to have a G-98/C96 for a long time

wow im suprised in order to unlock the fedorov Avtomat optical i equipped it and continued to play regulary and from time to time i played mainly with this to get the kills and i thought the gun was a fucking beast with his amazing hip fire and good iron sight i even got upset that this is not an all class gun

The c96 is the only pistol to use , 10 rounds good rpm and very decent performance . Genuinely wish this was an all class sidearm

Î use the Pistol08 Luger, because the recoil while firing is making it on long range so far for me, and i can easy hit a guy, about 20m+ and finish him on. By far my Favorite Sidearm for every class!
