Haven't watched NASCAR since Dale Earnhardt died. Haven't watched football since Senior year in HS. But I know people who do. And sadly, I think they are - as I call - "sheeple". They go with the flow, even if it be to the slaughter. I have enjoyed your conversations for a while now and I have to agree with you, John. I am upset at the way, not just the sports, but even corporations are treating the flag of this great nation that ALOT of people, myself included, have bled and some have even died defending.

John, you are 100% right. And let me just mention, that I was talking to a woman from Israel. She is not a citizen of the United States. She and her family are here for just a couple of years for her son to go to school, and they must return home next year. Her son put on a sports game on TV. When her husband saw all but one player Kneel for the national anthem, he turned it off. They were apalled and heartbroken that citizens of the United States citizens would disrespect their flag and their anthem. Her husband said his family would not support anyone who disrespects America! They are not the only foreigners that I’ve heard express this. I’ve been told by many the following sentiment, “ifAmerica loses its freedom, the rest of the world is lost”. My family is boycotting any group that is anti-patriotism.

NASCAR was started by good ole boy bootleggers who hated the police and distrust the government and their rules and laws on prohibition. Also when the civil rights movement came into its own in the '50s, you began to see more Confederate flags in the region and at NASCAR events, particularly certain tracks but it wasn't so prevalent before then. So now that its pro police and pro Confederate flag your protesting any change? Seems to me that its the organization that changed first and your just mad because that change is now not to your liking.

My daughter and I went to Top Golf a couple of Sunday’s who in Fort Worth TX to have a fun day instead of football. The Cowboys game was on in the bar/restaurant area and we remember all the TVs blaring the game and I saw nobody watching the screen. My daughter looked at me and said it’s weird not caring about football anymore but we both don’t miss it. I pride the Star medallion off my truck, I put a police blue line emblem instead. I gave them up once in 2017 when they were kneeling and I kept up the boycott for the entire season, all I remember is the Patriots went to the SB that year against the Eagles and I didn’t watch that game either. I don’t think I will be back again, the venom these players spewed this year took my disgust to a whole new level. I literally don’t watch must current TV at all now, mostly just old reruns of Dukes and other childhood memory shows and like you said John I spend time outside

I spent nearly 24 years in the Army, covering 17 Countries and 36 States. I've never seen anything more deliberately offensive than these prima donna athletes and their organizations supporting the total disrespect of those who made real sacrifices for our freedoms. The National Anthem is not hail to the police! It's a unifying song to bring us all together as Americans, to be thankful for the freedoms we have, and all those who have sacrificed for those freedoms. They have chosen the Anthem as their time to protest because they hate America and want to argue that our country is racist and responsible for their failures in lives. They do not care how false their police brutality narrative is. They are like spoiled rotten kids who disrespect their parents no matter how much their parents have done for them. I can't take it and will NEVER WATCH THESE SPORTS AGAIN. I love football but love our country more!

I’m right there with you. I have been watching football for over 30 years and I have not watched one minute of football and I do not plan on watching a single game this year. I just can’t support the message or the lack of values that the NFL and a lot of other professional sports are supporting right now. I have however found a substitute for my need to watch competitive sports. I’ve fallen back in love with a sport that I enjoyed when I was a kid. I had an uncle that was basically the crew chief for a dirt track race car. It was my second favorite 01. The number on the door was six01 and It was mostly orange with a little white mixed in. It was an early 80’s body style Camaro. I spent many Saturday nights cheering for that car. I had forgot how much I loved dirt track racing until I recently started following and watching the World of Outlaws sprint cars. There’s no drama that I’ve witnessed so far. They start off every race with a prayer and the National Anthem. Sometimes they recognize our veterans and our recent American hero’s in the form of health care workers. It’s really a cool sport. The drivers are very competitive and talented. In a lot of ways they are more talented than a lot of the NASCAR drivers in my opinion. These guys are averaging over a hundred miles an hour around a dirt oval in an open wheel car with 900 horsepower and they only weigh 1400 pounds. Those guys are either crazy or they have got nerves of steel but the really cool thing is the pit crews. It doesn’t matter who the driver is when they come off the track with a flat tire or a damaged wing or whatever, the crews all help each other out. You’ll see crew guys with several different sponsors on there shirts grabbing wrenches or slinging tires. It’s really cool to see people working together like that. They don’t want to beat someone in the pits. They want to beat them on the track. I highly recommend The World of Outlaws to anyone that’s looking for something to watch that still supports American values and sportsmanship. It gives me something to look forward to every weekend. Thank you John for all the years of entertainment and for being an upstanding proud American with honorable core values. Sometimes your childhood heroes don’t turn out to be such great people but you sir are the real deal and I thank you for that. Sorry for such a long post. This video kind of inspired me and it was great to know that there’s people out there that are turning off the NFL and other pro sports too. Thanks again!

Love the conversation, and the sentiments!! Glad I've never been a spots fan, though I have been a movie fan, and that's changed in recent years! The radicals do not get my support. Many names on the list of people not to watch now. Enjoying The Dukes of Hazzard, though, on disc! Fun stories, solid values, good people. Good people is KEY. You folks are why the show was, and is, so amazing!

I've been done with the pampered prima donnas in sports and show business for years now. *The following is my opinion on the matter and is NOT directed at Mr. Schneider* Everybody has a right to their opinions but your freedom of speech ends at my ears. I don't have to listen to your opinions and I sure as heck didn't turn on a football game or go to a music concert to hear your opinions. And, if you want to make your opinions known people have a right to stop watching the things you do, be that sports, music, TV or movies.

•💟• I'm sorry, but I don't know what happened as far as Nascar & professional sports. Someone please tell me & I'll try to find out also. I do know that I've had the opinion for decades that our society has been far too preoccupied with aggressive competition with serious consequences, (vs. a little harmless playing), at every turn. It's in "everything" and it's toxic. I especially despise the thoughtless, increasing pressures on children, (& their health), to prepare them earlier & younger than ever to compete for a reasonable education......acadamia is rooted in evil. The life altering consequences are too great......it's super sad. Too much competition, from within families & even spouses to influancing our whole society and distracting people's thinking away from better values & standards. Think about this; Does this disapproval of others, from us about them to them about us, all qualify for competition? Could we all just allow one another the right to be? Yes, by all means stand up for good values, but all people go through ups & downs. Loving & accepting one another will raise the resonance, (frequency/vibration), to lift one another up,....that's why God's advice is to love one another & Jesus command us to love our neighbor as ourselves........because that is what lifts people up & raises our conditions of existance. Thank you for your time & prayers. •💟•

For myself, there is a difference in taking a stand against Racism and other negative behaviors and being unpatriotic. And the more respectful choices of teams and athletes to not play a game in order to bring attention to the difficulty many in America face on a regular basis should not be seen in the same light as violence or looting and other behaviors that opportunistic people might engage in.

100% agree, it’s people ignoring the issue while bashing the action that degraded into the riots in the first place. You can’t be upset at someone peacefully trying to bring attention to an issue, and then be enraged when the same issue you ignored descends into violence.

Hey, John!! My name is Rachel, I'm thirteen years old and I LOVE the Dukes of Hazzard. I don't think you'll remember me, but I was at HazzardFest on the 3rd. I was wearing the orange hoodie and my sister was wearing red. So, I wanted to say this in person but I didn't get the chance. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that one of my biggest dreams was to get to see you one day, but I not only got to see you, I got to get your autograph and take a picture with you. Thank you so much for being there! You made one of my biggest dreams come true!

First, thank you So much for being so gracious with your time this weekend. My wife and I made the trip up from Huntsville, AL and had the best weekend. We are 100% in agreement over the sports. We started "taking a knee" against professional sports last year, and the acts of the past few months have just caused us to double down on our position. Thank you for your life of sharing. Your time, your talents, your music, your wisdom and voice.

I feel the same way Nascar was the last great American sport . They stood for the anthem believed in Jesus and left the political garbage at the door. But now just like all other pro sports the owners and players (i.e. drivers). Have went down on their knees for the money and then have the nerve to cry on t.v. about the so called social injustice. Well they turned their back on us patriot American people, well its time we stand together and turn our backs on them all once and for all. If no tickets are sold no merchandise bought lets see who the come to then . STAND TALL AND STRONG PATRIOTS

It's a first Amendment thing. They are showing their displeasure with things. The first Amendment is number one for a reason, because it is the most powerful and most important. Freely sharing information and ideas is the cornerstone of all we built and you would find it hard to protect your 2end amendment without your 1st. As some hold the second as the means to check tyranny, yet more hold the 1st in just the same way.
@CM-76

Hey Don, Noone is wanting to take their 1st amendment rights away but they need to do it in a format away from the sport. Those athletes are paid thousands of dollars to play with a ball or drive a car. Thats their job I don't care about there feelings or if they are having an off day. Just do the job you are paid to do. That is only one of the problems in America these days is to many people want to cry ass about the job at hand or that someone hurt their feelings. Life is hard and the world sucks! So suck it up buttercup and just do your damn job.
