Leather craft tools for cutting and what I suggest for beginning leather workers need to start

This video is to teach about a few of the cutting tools used by leather crafters. Some of these tools are common and some a specific to leather work. If you are interested in starting working with leather I give some suggestions on what tools I would start with.

Round knives and head knives are technically different, based on profile and I believe distance between wingtips. Also, I have a couple antique round/head knives and Ive found they typically would put a taper from the handle to the cutting edge

I have always heard it explained as two different profiles. I have used several of both styles but personally prefer the round knife shape. I did not have a head knife on hand to show.

Good video man with a lot of info. I'm really curious how you straightened the reigns after cutting in a spiral

Some of the straightening can be done by stretching the strap. I would step on it and pull up on about three feet at a time. Then I would roll the strap up like a giant cinnamon roll and hit any part of the roll that was uneven with a cobblers hammer until it stopped misbehaving.
